Jenn's Review
Finally!! We get to find out what is going on in Amy Benson’s
life and why she is on the run!! I felt like the wait was wayyyy longer.
We start off exactly where Escaping Reality ended. Remember that?
Heart pounding, jaw dropping moment when Amy over heard Liam and Derek. Amy is
running all over Denver, making her plan to escape and hoping not to be found.
But, Liam finds her at the airport.
“Run to me, not from me.”
What is she supposed to believe? He’s telling her he is
protecting her and that he never lied to her. Making what she heard him say to
Derek that much worse. She gets away but not before he tells her he will find her.
She’s doing the best she can. Working in a diner, trying to
earn enough money to make a plan and find a safe ride back to Texas. Liam finds
her again. He was able to pay a trucker to give up her location. Thing is, Liam
wasn’t the only person looking for her. He was just the one with deeper
pockets. He doesn’t give her a choice to leave with him and takes her to the
only place that he knows is safe; his home. You can sense Liam’s relief, now
that he found her and is not going to let her out of his sight. Amy wants
answers but Liam doesn’t have them…yet.
Someone wanted her out of New York and now that’s she headed
back there, her anxiety and black out episodes are in full force. One thing
that hasn’t changed is the heat between the two. Even though Amy doesn’t fully
trust Liam yet, her body does. Liam wants her; mind, body and soul and he will
do whatever it takes to get her there again. But there are so many obstacles
thrown at them. More questions and half answers.
I read as fast as I could. I wanted to know what the he!! was
going on! There were some people to show up from Escaping Reality and I was
almost changing my mind about what I thought was going on. But that seemed to
be my problem throughout most of the book. I know who to trust, and I learned
what happened and with whom, mostly. There are some good shockers throughout
the story as well but once I finished, I really felt more confused about what
Amy had learned. I liked the story but it felt unfinished. I’m sure we will
learn more later but I’m not sure about that either. I give it 3.5 stars.
