***Jenn's Review of One to Hold by Tia Louise***

WARNING: Mature themes, strong language and sexual content. Recommended for adult readers (18+) only!

Derek Alexander is an ex-Marine, ex-cop, and the top investigator in his field. Melissa Jones is a small-town girl trying to escape her troubled past.

When the two intersect in a bar in Arizona, their sexual chemistry is off the charts. But what is revealed during their "one week stand" only complicates matters.

Because she'll do everything in her power to get away from the past, but he'll do everything he can to hold her.

Jenn's Review

One to Hold was a fast paced romance that in my opinion did not drag or slow down once. Tia threw in some shockers that had my stomach dropping like I’m on a roller coaster! I really enjoyed this story about Melissa and Derek.
Melissa’s best friend, Elaine, decides she needs to take a trip. On this trip, she will begin her new life. She will do what she wants to do. She can even decide what she wants to drink. She is getting away from a life where her decisions were made for her. Melissa has filed for divorce from an abusive and cheating husband. Not to mention just downright sleazy! Wait until you hear all about what he’s been up to!
Melissa meets Derek while sitting at the bar, sipping on a drink that tastes disgusting. But, she’s drinking it because she got to order it. There is an immediate attraction between them and what happens shortly after meeting is flat out HOT! Melissa has surprised herself but at the same time she isn’t sure if she can face Derek again. So when he asks if she will meet him the next night, she can’t bring herself to go. But what can you do when all your thoughts end up back to this man? Well, you let go of what’s holding you back and give in to the desire!! It’s only a week, right?
Melissa comes home a different woman. She faces her fears and tells her soon to be ex that she isn’t changing her mind. She wants nothing of his, just his signature. And it certainly helps that she finds information on him. Let’s just say it’ll push him to sign on the dotted line. But she also found something else and she certainly wasn’t prepared for or expecting it. Hell, I wasn’t expecting it!
All this leads to her new beginning. She had to leave; there was no choice in the matter. But what happens when people just don’t want to let go? Well, it gave me a story that made me anxious, swoon and needing a fan on high! I only wish that I had more on Derek. He remains a bit of a mystery to me but, hopefully we can get to know him more in the future. *wink wink

***Blog Tour Stop and Giveaway*** Villere House by Leslie Fear and C.D. Hussey

Synopsis:
College senior, Lottie Boyd, expects to drink too much while on spring break in New Orleans. What she doesn't expect is to be haunted. Or fall in love. But that's exactly what happens.
It starts with strange, vivid dreams about a 19th century widow so desperate to save her sick little girl, she's willing to do anything--even if it involves the black magic of Voodoo. It doesn't end there. Voices, ghost sightings, familiarity with things and places she couldn't possibly know. All leading her to the Villere House of Voodoo and the young Creole owner, Xavier Villere.
Xavier is compelled to help and is drawn to Lottie in a way he's never known, but skepticism of his family's century-old link to Voodoo and the occult keep her at arms length. If he can only come to terms with his heritage, he might be able to help solve the mystery of the widow plaguing Lottie's dreams. And maybe even find love in the process.
Note: Villere House is an adult romance and not suitable for readers under 18.

Excerpt:
Xavier continued to stand there, trapping her in the bathroom. His eyes lingered on her and he looked like he wanted to say something. Lottie wanted to ask, but her words were as trapped as his.

Finally, he pushed off the jamb. "Well, I guess I should let you try to get some shut-eye."

She could only nod and follow him back into the bedroom with the massive, gorgeous bed.

"Need anything?"

A couple of silk scarves tying her wrists to one of the posts.

"Bourbon?" He prodded.

"I think I'm good. Thanks."

"I won't be far, so if you change your mind..."

It was possible she was imagining it, or hopelessly optimistic, but she thought she saw a glimmer of her own desires reflected in his dark brown eyes.  He was lingering...

Lesley's Review:

Voodoo, Haunting ghosts, New Orleans….Need I say more. With Halloween right around the corner, I was in the mood for a spooky read. Now, I don’t like horror and this was the perfect book for me. It had just the right amount of creepy to set mood.
Charlotte has arrived in New Orleans with her friends for spring break fun. Not long after she arrives she starts to have vivid dreams and hear strange voices. She’s blames it on the alcohol. HA! The alcohol always gets the blame. It doesn’t take long for the weird to get weirder. She soon finds herself wondering aimlessly and drawn into a voodoo shop where she meets Xavier Villere. She’s immediately captivated by Xavier and it’s reflected in the way Xavier acts as well.
“She felt crazy for even thinking she might be haunted. Crazy she could justify.”
Charlotte soon finds herself in a trance following a ghost.  This ghost leads her into dangerous streets and has her doing strange things to herself. She dreams of a strange dead Voodoo Queen and strangers from the past. She’s not even going to play like it’s no big deal. She may be going crazy or she may be in danger. Lottie turns to the only person who may be able to help, Xavier.
“‘A chicken foot? …….A Talisman of protection.’”
These two join forces to figure out what is after Lottie. Working together they set out to put the pieces their ancestors are leaving them. While solving the mystery it seems their hearts are falling for each other. Or are they? Are they so involved in the past that it’s clouding their futures? After all there is more than just one connection.  You have to read to find out and step into the French Quarter and take a trip down memory lane with a Voodoo mystery.
“The love between them…I couldn’t let you deny it. And it’s still in me, just like it’s still in you. I can feel it. I know you do too.”
I rate this one 4 mysteriously haunting stars. It’s a quick easy read. I absolutely loved the magical and historical elements coming into play with this one. I can’t forget the Romance that is woven in to the past and present. How bitter-sweet it is. Lottie and Xavier’s adventure was a thrilling and entertaining one. I’m glad that everything works out in the end, or did it?  I’ll be waiting to read the sequel “Bayou Grise” to find out what’s going to happen next.

Blog Tour Stop and Giveaway*** Searching for Tomorrow by Kathryn McNeill Crane

Some people are blessed to find that one certain person who completes them.

Wrynn’s yesterdays were what others only dream of having. She and Tripp were the best of friends before they even thought about love. They had the fairy tale life where ‘like’ turns into ‘love’, and ‘love’ becomes ‘happily ever after’.

What happens when life conspires against you, and snatches your soul mate from your arms?

…only her forever love ended much too soon.

Broken beyond her own ability to repair, Wrynn boxes up her grief and attempts to raise her three girls the best she can on her own. As time slowly passes, Wrynn relives her life with Tripp while struggling most days to get out of bed. She is reminded of him at every turn.

How do you set your grief and anguish aside? How do you pick up the shattered pieces, put those pieces back together again, and try to move on?

Wrynn tries to find the joy in life every single day through her daughters, family, and friends. Her twin brother Liam has dedicated himself to helping Wrynn put her life back together after losing his own love. On the other hand, her mother-in-law lives to torment her at every turn. Wrynn can't even find a chance to breathe, much less a desire to somehow search for her tomorrow.

Guest Review by Danielle Plane
Every once in a while you are lucky enough to find a book that hits really close to home, evoking emotions that you haven’t felt in a long time. Searching for Tomorrow did that for me. This is a beautiful love story about two soul mates whose future is cut short, leaving one of them to pick up the pieces and carry on without the other.

“Each memory, every dream, carries me back to the very day that my soul seeks, yet pushes me to search for tomorrow.”-Wrynn

September 11th 2001 plays a large part in this book. That infamous date is one that anyone who lived through it can relate to and will never forget. I was especially drawn to Tripp during this time, like myself, he decides to join the military after those tragic events. Although September11thwasn’t the reason I enlisted, it was one of the reasons I was proud to be serving my country. Kathryn does a wonderful job drawing emotions out of the reader when reliving this tragic day. I was in tears and felt the struggle these two love birds share while dealing with Tripp’s enlistment. Although, I’m safe, and I didn’t loseany loved ones during that time of war, I could completely relate to the difficulties these two faced during this time. I cried so many times during this book, remembering what it felt like to leave behind my loved ones to carry out a mission. In the military it is always ‘duty and country before self’ and Kathryn does a wonderful job portraying this. I was truly impressed by the accuracy of the military aspects of this book. It made me reflect on my own journey, and how I felt during this time in my life, making me love Tripp that much more.
Tripp wasn’t as lucky in making it home, though. During this book, we are taken back and forth from the past and present as Wrynn deals with his death. She is forced tocarry on, raising their three girls, while remembering how life brought her to this point.  If you are a mother you know how difficult the day to day actives are. I can’t imagine doing it on my own while grieving.

“It’s time these girls knew more about their daddy, and I am the one who should share him with them.  After yesterday, I need to show them that life with him was not about heartbreak, not filled with anguish, but a time of love and happiness.” - Wrynn

My heart broke for Wrynn as she struggled to stay strong for her girls! She is determined to do what is best for her daughters and is able to do that with the help of her family and friends.  I loved her interaction with her twin Liam and the rest of her family. Oh, and also her wicked witch of a mother in law.  Wow, that woman is evil. This book made me appreciate my own mother in law that much more.
My favorite parts are of Wrynn and Tripp in the past. Theyhave been by each other’s side for years. Tripp was once the new kid in town who became best buddies with the twins. They are his escape away from his evil mother. What started of as friendship, turns into the type of love that all girls dream of. Tripp is the perfect boyfriend, and friend, to Wrynn. I loved the sweet innocence of their relationship, and the choices they make as teens that carry them into their future. Kathryn does a wonderful job making you believe that it is possible to find your soul mate at a young age.

"Tripp was my best friend, my lover, my confidant, my soul mate. He was the salt to my pepper. He was the peanut butter to my chocolate, and he alone brought me love and hope and joy. Together we created our three beautiful girls and together we looked at the world as ours to conquer. In short, he was my other half, the part that completed me."-Wrynn

Overall, I really enjoyed Searching for Tomorrow. It is a lot cleaner than my usual books, but it is a beautiful story that had me in tears. The only reason this book isn’t a 5 star read for me is that I needed a little more to the story. I wanted to experience more of their relationship while they were adults.I also wanted more at the end.   I will definitely be reading Liam’s book because I want answers regarding his situation.
So, if you are looking for an emotional book about a two soul mates who don’t get the happily ever after they dreamed of,search no more. Pick this one up, you won’t regret it.

If you are reading this, I think you should know that "About me" sounds so very pretentious to me. I guess that is what I am supposed to write about, so here it goes!

Kathryn is a simple country girl who likes to spend time with her hubba, hunka hubby, her three kids and her friends. She loves to cook and really loves to eat! During the spring and summer, you will more than likely find her outside puttering around in her garden. When the veggies start coming in, she will probably be sweating over a hot canner in the kitchen, canning all the goodies she is blessed with. Kathryn likes to hike and go camping, and as a Girl Scout leader, she gets to do this pretty often! On cold winter nights, you will probably find her wrapped in a warm blanket, lost in a good book, while sitting in her rocking chair on the front porch!

Kathryn was born and raised in North Carolina, and while she loves to travel, she can't imagine ever leaving the mountains that she has come to call home. Not a day goes by that Kathryn doesn't thank God for abundantly blessing her. He has been so good to her, and she is very grateful. She holds Jeremiah 29:11 very close to her heart and believes it with every fiber of her being. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Kathryn loves flip flops, chocolate, sweet tea and dirt between her toes. As far back as she can remember, she's had a book in her hand. Reading has carried her to places she will never go. It has introduced her to people that she will never meet. When life is great and when it is rough, she's always been able to find a book to carry her through. She finally decided to write down some of the stories in her head (yes, be scared) and heart after dawdling around and wasting years dreaming. She hopes you enjoy reading those stories as much as she loves writing them!
