Synopsis
Danny and Liv are back...
Danny loves Liv. He knows he loves her more than she loves
him because she ran without a word when she saw their future mapped out before
her. He knows he will never love anyone like he loved her and this time he
doesn’t think he can move on.
Liv loves Danny. She knows she loves him more than he loves
her because he broke her heart in the worst possible way, right when things
were falling into place. She knows she will never love anyone like she loves
him and this time she doesn’t think she can move on.
They needed a second chance because they just weren’t ready
for their first, but when events changed everything between them, they
discovered they were just human after all. Now Liv and Danny have to find a way
to survive being hurt by each other.
They doubted, they underestimated and they did believe the
worst, but only because they were too young the first time and too vulnerable
the second time. But now they have changed and if they are not the same, surely
things can only turn out differently?
Sandy B's Review
“Being
this sensitive, not demanding sex when I’m so tired, understanding me
completely, is basically foreplay, long-range foreplay, because sleep is
calling, but it still counts.”– Liv
“I’ve
tried very hard since then, not to hold everything up against what we had, but
it’s impossible. There has been something missing in my life ever since that
day and last week, for the first time in twelve years, something changed. The
missing piece came into view and I had to come see if I could put myself back
together.”- Danny
Liv and
Danny are baaaack. Alas the road to true
loves does not run smoothly. Does it
ever?! Liv doesn’t think Danny loves her
so she runs. Danny thinks that Liv must
not love him because she left him. Ay ay
ay – it’s a comedy of errors. I quite
enjoyed Being Human (Just Human #1) despite the cliffhanger and so I was
looking forward to Book #2.
Our
couple is young, so young so things are misunderstood and there was a time or
two when I wanted to smack one or both of me.
However, there is something here for everyone. Looking for romance, looking for the
hot/smexy, looking for the angst and some heartache – you’ll find it all. A life event bring Danny running to Liv’s
side but Liv is having none of it. She’s
not going to make it easy for him to waltz back into her life.
I loved
that Danny’s POV is represented in Still Human.
It’s always cool to hear the male voice in a story. It did not detract for me at all from the
flow and story. Whether these two can
get past their insecurities, hurt feelings and fear of trusting again is part
of what keeps you turning the pages.
Needless to say, I was rooting for Danny. I think many ladies will be drooling,
wishing, rooting and loving Danny as their next Book Boy Friend.
In case
that wasn’t clear – I liked it. I really
liked it. J
