LOVING CARA Synopsis:
CHEMISTRY WAS NEVER THIS SEXY IN HIGH SCHOOL.
In her sizzling new series, USA Today bestselling author Kristen Proby sets the stage for a passionate reunion under the breathtaking Montana sky.
Cara Donovan’s summer tutoring job is turning out to be a challenge—and not just because of her troubled twelve-year-old student. It’s his uncle Josh who’s the real problem. If problem is the word for an irresistibly cocky, muscle-bound rancher with a taste for tight Levi’s and shameless flirtation. . . .
Cara is nothing like the wallflower Josh King remembers good-naturedly teasing in high school. This Cara is gorgeous, confident, fun. From the moment the fiery teacher steps foot on his family’s Lazy K Ranch, the stubborn playboy is determined to corral her. So what happens when his luscious lover takes over the reins?
The first in a steamy trilogy, Kristen Proby’s enthralling novel is filled to the brim with one hardworking family’s triumphs and challenges, all the wild adventure of the modern West, and a whole lot of titillating fun.
Sandy B's Review:
Josh
to Cara “You’re so sweet,” he whispers. “You’ve been drinking wine.” I grin and nod. He chuckles softly against my skin, making me
tingle even more. “Can I pour you a
glass?” I ask, my voice trembling. “No,
I’m drunk enough on you sweetheart.”
You
gotta love a guy that says stuff like that – right? What if said guy is a hot as hell cowboy,
with a body that you want to climb like a monkey would a tree? What is you knew said guy all your life and
knew he was a good guy? Would you let
your insecurities of the supposed nerdy fat girl you were as a kid stop
you? Would it be too far fetched to
believe that he’s as wonderful as he seems?
Could you trust yourself to believe that you two together are the real
deal? Or would you run away from the
best thing that’s ever happened to you?
First
I want to say that I am a big of Kristen Proby’s With Me In Seattle
series. I own and have read ALL of her
books. This was the first one that I’ve
had the pleasure to review for The Book Blog.
I was very very excited to do so.
Honestly, I had a little trouble getting the fangirl thing under
control. Once I opened Loving Cara, I
was in hook, line and sinker.
Cara
is a small town girl. She’s also a
teacher – a job she loves and school is out for the summer. She’s offered a tutoring job for the 12 year
old nephew of Josh King. Seth (son of
Josh’s twin brother Zack) is dumped at the family ranch by his good for nothing
mother Kensie. Zack is serving in the
military and this poor kid’s head has been filled with all kinds of garbage
about his Dad.
Cara
takes one look at Josh and decides he’s even yummier than she remembers. Josh takes one look at Cara and whether he
likes it or not – his body and heart have decided that she is everything that
he needs. Some people may not like the
instalove. Personally, I bought it! It’s not like these two met last week.
We get angst here,
but personally, I like a little more angst in my reads. However, in the first of what is going to be
a trilogy, Kristen has given us sweet sweet love, sweeping beautiful romance
with a hawt sexiness that is her trademark and frankly irresistible. I’d been
reading a lot of heavy/dark stuff lately so this was just what the doctor
ordered. Kristen also gives a very nice
mix of interesting characters which will make up the other two books in the
trilogy.
The Montgomery
boys will always be near and dear to my heart – for sure. However, I can make room for Josh, Zack and
Ty. We get a sneak peak at Seducing
Lauren (Book 2 in the Series). It tells the
story of Lauren (a former mean girl with lots of money and a troublesome
ex-husband) and Ty (Josh’s best friend and the town lawyer). I can tell you
right now that I am going to be all over it!
Ty just might give those Montgomery
boys a run for their money. ;-)
