Hi
Jenna. Thank you so much for agreeing to
let me pick your brain. I’m very excited
about your next release and want our readers to get to know you a little
better.
Did you
always want to be a writer?
No. I always wanted to be a veterinarian. Sadly, it was a dream I never pursued.
About eight years ago, I decided to put one of the short stories
that I had bouncing around in my head, down on paper. It turned into a full length novel, and I
haven't stopped writing since.
How do
you react to a bad review of one of your books?
Well, luckily, reviewers have been very kind. But, as long as the person wasn't rude, I
would view it as a constructive critique.
Are the
names of the characters in your novels important? Do you have a special
way of choosing them?
Names have to fit the character and they have to be period
specific. I figure out the year my characters were born, then I search for the
most popular baby names for that year, and pick one.
Same
question for your title?
Titles usually pick themselves.
They'll just pop out at me from the page. Sometimes a book doesn't have
a title until the very end.
Your
upcoming release Prince of Punk Rock is about a bisexual rock star. Who
inspired him?
I can't really say anyone inspired any of my characters. They
are purely fictitious and they're people my imagination just congers up. Once I start writing them, they take on their
own personality. They often go through
transformations and end up very different from the character I started out
writing.
Inquiring
minds want to know what’s next? Tell us
about your current Work in Progress?
I am currently writing Radical Rock Stars Book Two. It's a
continuation of The Prince of Punk Rock, Radical Rock Stars Book One. Book One is not a cliff hanger,
but their story isn't over yet. They
have a big story to tell, and it needed two books. Book Three will focus on the bass player and
Book Four will focus on the drummer. Do
you want to know the title of Book Two, as well as a synopsis? Well, you're just going to have to buy The
Prince of Punk Rock, Radical Rock Stars Book One, because you'll find that info
at the back of the book. J

This
is your 2nd release - what would you say you've learned from Book #1
“Jealousy” to Book #2 “Prince of Punk Rock”?
The most important thing I learned is to have beta readers. It's astounding how something you may have
thought was very clearly represented, was misinterpreted or overlooked by the
reader. Betas make it better! J
