***Jenn's Review of Seductive Shadows***

Synopsis
Charlie is a passionate, sensually-inspired art student, desperately seeking an escape from the abusive past that haunts her and a tragic accident that emptied her heart. Scarred and unable to love, her yearning for physical pleasure leads her into a tantalizing, dangerous world of power and seduction. The anonymity of the deal offers security; the money brings financial freedom and the madam is the mother figure she longs for.

But the thrill of the mansion and its arousing dominance quickly fades when she meets renowned-yet-mysterious Cameron Hardy, whose intense baby blue eyes send a nervous flutter through her core. Cameron is sexy, and not in a subtle way. He stimulates Charlie’s art, her intellect and her desires. Just as he begins to break through her emotional boundaries, she discovers a devastating connection between her past and her scandalous work at the mansion, shattering everything she thought to be true.

Provocative, intoxicating and erotic, Seductive Shadows is the unforgettable tale of a young woman’s self-discovery as she learns to forgive, to love and be loved, and to find redemption amidst a remarkable journey that will captivate your mind and stimulate your soul.

This book is for mature audiences. It contains explicit language and sexual content.

Jenn's Review
I knew from the title that Seductive Shadows may be a little dark and a lot sexy. I got so much more than I expected! The more the story continued the more down the rabbit hole I fell. It was not what I was expecting at all but I enjoyed every minute of it.
Charlie had lost so much. Her best friend Emma was killed in a car accident and Charlie was driving. So not only did she lose Emma, who was more like a sister, she lost Emma’s family as well. They had always treated her as one of their own. Now, she doesn’t exist to them.
Charlie’s mom, Lily, is dying. But even before she got sick, she was never much of a mom. She was more concerned with the men in her life and she has no idea who Charlie’s father even is! So this leaves Charlie with no one really. Her friend Dallas wants to be more than just a bed buddy but she can’t let him get too close. She has her art and her professor believes in her and her talent. She has her job. She works nights and likes it that way. She pays her bills and gets by.
One night at work she has to escape to the restroom. She needs a release and her only option is by hand. She’s in there alone and quickly takes care of business. A little later she gets a visit from an attractive woman offering her a new position, as long as she passes the “audition” and with the little preview from the restroom, that shouldn’t be a problem. Ummm what?? How was she even seen? Even crazier, is the amount of money they are willing to pay her for her, ahem, services! More money in a week than she gets in a month now! Well why not? She loves sex. It’s a way for Charlie to escape, to become someone else. And she becomes Cee. She’s desperate for money; her mom’s medical bills take most of what she makes.
The audition turns into a job but before she can begin, she must first see their doctor. Everything is checked but he also wants to know about her well being. If she isn’t feeling well or gets sick in any way, she MUST come see him. No outside care ever again. Her new boss, Victoria, also wants her to be comfortable enough to come to her for anything. Even if it’s just to talk. They are her new family, and since Charlie lost Emma’s family, she really hasn’t had anyone care for her. She falls into her new role well. She’s comfortable, feels sexy and the money is good.
Her art class is also going well. She has been paired up with Cameron Hardy. He’s already made a name for himself in the art world but comes back for refreshers. He helps her with more than her art. She can be herself with Cameron and he still likes her. She doesn’t have to dress up and play a role. She wants him but he makes her nervous by just looking at her. She’s pretty sure if he knew about her job, he’d be out the door.
Things start to shift in the story at this point. She’s finding out things about her employer and they are so crazy, she’s not even sure she can believe them. However, she needs to decide quickly, or she may end up disappearing and it won’t be on a vacation. The last several chapters had me biting my nails off! From one of her clients being someone she knows to finding out the truth of where she is working. Mentioned above, this is a dark erotica. So if you like to read the darker side of things, I believe you’ll enjoy this as well. I have not read one like it and I liked the originality of it. It does have an open ending, to lead us into the next book! Yea!!

  1. Thank you for a detailed review. I have a good idea what the book is about besides the blurb and excerpts I've read.
