Crows Row/Scare Crow Trailer!
Jenn's Review
If you’re like me, you were anticipating the release of
Scare Crow. I read Crow’s Row in late 2012 and the ending ate at me for days!
Then I see on Facebook that Julie is working on book 2 and I KNEW that I wanted
it ASAP. You did that too, right?
And, you remember how Crow’s Row ended? Since it had been a
while that I’d read it, I went back and read it again before I started Scare
Crow. Again, I was left reeling! Luckily, there was no wait time and I was able
to see exactly what was going through everyone’s minds. I have to tell you, I
REALLY felt for Emmy. More alone than she’s ever been and she finds herself in
worse circumstances than before she met Cameron. We find out that he did what he did to
protect her. That may have been so but, I still want to call BS.
Emmy’s luck, if you want to call it that, was getting worse
by the day. Her only saving grace was Griff. There were some days that I wanted her to
throw in the towel and give herself to Griff. Every decision he made always had
her in mind. He became her bodyguard and her friend. But, she kept a lot from
him and I know he had a hard time believing that Cameron had actually loved
her.
There is so much that happens in this book. We get dual POVs
this time! Unfortunately, I really didn’t care to be in Cameron’s head. There
were times when I felt like we could’ve gone without. However, I soaked up
every moment with Emmy. She showed a side of her that I didn’t know she had. She
was ruthless at times, on her road to revenge. And extremely strong. I believe
it was her POV that made the story.
The last several chapters made the entire book, in my
opinion. And, the truth comes out at
this point. You may have seen by now that book 3 will be released. I have not
seen an anticipated release date yet but hopefully it won’t be too long!
A former germaphobe and clean-freak turned mother of two, Julie collects enough tears and snot in a month to recreate Slimer Monster from Ghostbusters. Other than playing devoted wife and mama, Julie is the funniest person in the room (according to the 3 year-old and 2 year-old in said room) and can build the most awesome Lego rocket ship you’ve ever set your eyes on (according to her). Oh, and she has a full time career and has also written a bestselling novel. Superhero, or just downright insane?
