BAD THINGS
By R.K. Lilley
June 11th, 2013

BLURB:

Danika hasn’t had an easy life. Being insanely attracted to bad boys has never helped make it easier.

One look at Tristan, and every brain cell she possessed went up in smoke. This man was trouble with a capital T. It was a given.
She knew better. Bad boys were bad. Especially for her. Considering her history, it was crazy to think otherwise. So why did crazy have to feel so damn fine?

For as long as she could remember, Danika had been focused on the future with single-minded purpose. Tristan came along and taught her everything there was to know about letting go, and living in the present. She fell, hard and deep. Of course, that only made her impact with the ground that much more devastating.

Lesley's Review:
Bad Things...yeah, bad as in watch the train wreck happening before your eyes. (I mean that in the best way.) If you read the Up in the Air series you know where this story is going to end up. We just don't know how it got there. Now, we have to sit back and read, watching the story unfold. I loved every moment of it. I'm dying for the rest of Danika and Tristan's story. I became intrigued the first time we were introduced to their characters. I knew this was going to be an all consuming beautiful mess.

"Love is nothing but the most flexible promise"

I didn't realize how far back Ms. Lilley would take us. I was expecting to get the back story told from the
present...Surprise...surprise...from the past to the present we go. From the first instant that these two meet, you see the instant chemistry.Their story begins at the very beginning. It begins with the very first time they met. And I fell in love with the witty,fun-loving, Tristan. I fell in love with Danika, I related to her need to be in-control and tendency to be a bit uptight. These two gravitate towards each other, seamlessly bringing their status of just met to best friends.

Realizing the potential for a disaster to happen if they give in to the attraction they feel for each other, they set boundaries. Danika trying to stay out of a relationship with a Bad boy-type but doesn't partake in one-night stands. Tristan just doesn't do relationships. You can see how that would spell a recipe for a broken heart and ruined friendship. Especially, since these two are great together when they are just being friends. However, it's plain to see these two are more then friends. It was never in the stars to stay just friends. (Of course we knew that) They struggle real hard to keep those boundaries up, but when you are having fun and alcohol is involved, bad things happen.

"We need to get away from each other until we sober up some, I think we are both feeling way too pretty right now."

These two struggling with their own demons, denial, and stupidity takes us on an intense journey. I was always waiting for the other shoe to drop. I don't know if it was because I know something bad is going to happen or if it was just how their story is. I'm going to say it's a little of both. We watch them fall in-love, we watch them mess sh*t up.  I felt my heart-breaking for them when tragedy strikes and my heart melted from the steamy scenes. Overall, this is an awesome read. You can't go wrong with this one. I gave it 4 stars.
