Music of the Heart by Katie Ashley
For Abby Renard, the plan was supposed to be simple—join her brothers’ band on the last leg of their summer tour and decide if she’s finally ready for the limelight by becoming its fourth member. Of course, she never imagined stumbling onto the wrong tour bus at Rock Nation would accidentally land her in the bed of Jake Slater, the notorious womanizing lead singer of Runaway Train. When he mistakes her for one of his groupie’s, Abby quickly lets him know she sure as hell isn't in his bed on purpose.
Jake Slater never imagined the angel who fell into his bed would resist his charms by promptly kneeing him in the balls. Of course, the fact she seems like a prissy choir girl makes her anything but his type. So he is more than surprised when after betting Abby she wouldn’t last a week on their tour bus, she is more than willing to prove him wrong. But as Jake’s personal life begins to implode around him, he finds an unlikely ally in Abby. He’s never met a woman he can talk to, joke with, or most importantly make music with.
As the week starts comes to a close, neither Abby nor Jake is ready to let go. Can a sweetheart Country songstress and a bad boy of Rock N Roll actually have a future together?

Jenn D’s Five Star Review
Katie Ashley has brought us another great novel in Music of the Heart! The story focuses around Abby Renard, the sweet and innocent Christian Country singer that is ready to go on tour with her brothers group when she stubbles on the wrong tour bus and straight into the rockers of Runaway Train and their lead singer Jake Slater, the notorious womanizer that lives the full rock and roll lifestyle. Jake makes a bet with Abby that she would not be able to handle a week on their tour bus and even though she is the sweet and innocent type, she is not going to let this rocker tell her what to do. Oh what can happen in just a week! The chemistry and the banter between Jake and Abby is outstanding! I could not get enough and did not want it to end!
I love that Abby is the good girl that does not put up with anyone’s crap. She was raised with older brothers and with her dad is a pastor so she frequently traveled to third world countries on missionaries and has experienced the harshness of living in those countries. She is no push over and knows how to handle herself. She has no problem telling the rocker bad boy what she thinks of him and she is not one of his groupies. But she is also been waiting to fall in love to give herself to the man who has won her heart.
And then there is Jake… the bad boy rocker with the reputation to match. He drinks too much… swears too much… and is the complete opposite of Abby. He loves his groupies and has no problem giving them what they want. Until he meets Abby… his Angel. There are times where Jake shows his soft side that makes you want to swoon and your heart melts and you believe he is capable of falling in love. Then there are times where you he proves that the rocker persona still lives in him and I wanted to kill him! I also loved the supporting band members of Runaway Train. You have Brayden the married guitar player who is more like the groups father figure, Ryhs the bass player and typical rocker and AJ the drummer… oh AJ… what to say about him! He does still some of the thunder from Jake and I cannot wait for the next book!
Katie Ashley brings out all the emotions in the book! I laughed… I cried… I wanted to throw my kindle and scream “oh no he didn’t!!” I loved that it showed that even the bad boy rocker can have a heart and not be afraid to show it. Neither of them has truly been in a relationship, and they try to make the best of it as they are both on the road as touring musicians. There are heartfelt moments that make your heart melt and then there are moments that you want to tell Jake “NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!” I was overjoyed that this book was a complete story and did not leave me hanging! I cannot wait to read the next installment of The Runaway Train series “Ensare My Heart”. This will be Runaway Train’s hot Latin drummer A.J Resendiz story.
