An ailing mom, a sister who refuses to face reality and a yearning for the one that got away, she finds putting one foot in front of the other as her only saving grace. But when Jordan finds Kimber while losing himself, they both discover, sometimes you just need to feel to be found.

Jenn's Review:
Feeling This was a story with heartache, joy, love and loss. You know how some stories will take a few chapters to really get into it? Well, this one wasn’t like that. Casey gives us a taste of something just a few pages in. This story is about Jordan and Kimber. From different towns, leading very different lives.
Jordan and Susan have been together for 3 years and she is his everything. He has the ring and is just waiting to ask her dad for her hand. They are going to the country club for an engagement party of their friends’. But there’s something going on with Susan and he doesn’t know what it is. This is something else he wants to talk about with her dad. It’s worrying Jordan and he wants her parent’s to know as well.
“It happens so suddenly, her mood turns.”
But you know what happens when Jordan speaks with Susan’s father? He brushes him off and tells him not to mention another word. Then Jordan is put on the spot and has to let it go for the moment. But that’s OK. His ring is now on her finger and this will get worked out. Susan goes home with her parents that night and Jordan is left feeling helpless because he knows something is wrong. All too soon his life changes forever and this absolutely broke my heart! He needs to get away from everything. He needs a change and some time to figure out what he’s going to do with his life.
Kimber is taking care of her very sick mom. She is working 2 jobs and going to school. What her mom’s insurance doesn’t cover, Kimber takes care of the rest. It’s exhausting and her mom is just flat out mean to her. Her mom is an alcoholic and of course that only makes matters worse. Her typical day is helping her mom, going to class, heading to the farm where her first job is and then working at the bar at night. There is no one to take care of Kimber but she’s gotten used to it. It may suck but it is what it is.
It’s one day while Kimber is delivering lunches on the farm that she sees the new guy. He’s very easy to look at and for some reason she can’t stop staring. So much so, she embarrasses herself and gets away as fast as she can. This same day, Jordan decides to have a beer after working on the farm all day. Just so happens it’s the same bar where Kimber works and they meet, officially.
Feeling This took off at this point for me. Both Jordan and Kimber had to learn to trust, let go and stop running away. That’s hard when you’ve been dealt a bad hand. I was able to share in their struggle and their growth. Casey did an amazing job of painting her story, but in words. Only a couple times did I feel the story slow down. But it didn’t take long to pick back up and I felt the butterflies. Some from being nervous, other times, downright swooning. I give Feeling This 4/5 stars.
