Jenn's Review:

It’s an end of an era! And I have to say that I’m having a very hard time saying goodbye to the brothers and their families. Saving Poughkeepsie was perfection. It was beautiful and ugly, an incredible read yet hard to get through at times.

Like the other books in the series, we get multiple POVs and I loved getting to spend extra time in Eve and Beckett’s head. There is so much packed into Saving Poughkeepsie that it took everything out of me. Wondering how far the effed up players in the game were going to get.

Beckett was stretched so thin that I had no idea how he kept his head and Eve went through more shite than any woman should yet, held herself together. It may have been with the help of stitches, but this is Eve we’re talking about!

As I mentioned in the beginning, I’m having a hard time letting go. From the moment I finished Poughkeepsie, I was invested. I fell in love with Blake and Livia, then Cole and Kyle and last, Eve and Beckett. These books are definitely ones that I can read again whenever I want.

A Note From Debra!!

Poughkeepsie he has been in print since 2011. Before that, it was on fanfictionin 2009. So, the story has had a long life. What’s fun for me is that this story keeps finding a new audience. When a new reader approaches Poughkeepsie and then contacts me, I get to relive the joy of being an author again and again. Poughkeepsie readers who connect with the story often keep the characters in their heart. They'll share songs, pictures, and locations that remind them of the book. It's a tremendous gift to be closely involved with the story’s journey. It's a journey that seems to have no end point in sight (thank heavens!) Now, that I have the sequel up and running and I’m writing the third book in the Poughkeepsie Brotherhood Series, I find myself revisiting the first book again. The research that must be done to keep the plot consistent is very rewarding.

Often, I'll be able to use my interactions with the readers and their opinions help form the next plot. I wonder if I wasn't lucky enough to be writing in this generation of the electronics and technology, if I’d have access to this kind of interactions? The readers really do become part of the story because of my ability to speak to anyone across the globe. And I think one of the most interesting parts about Poughkeepsie is the title, which is hard to say. With all of the vowels in the word,“Poughkeepsie” I've heard many different versions. First, I want to say THANK YOU to Mrs. Anastasia for allowing us to take part in this blog tour! I read Poughkeepsie a couple years ago and fell utterly in love. This was way before I even knew what book blogs were and that I could have one! Then, of course, Return to Poughkeepsie released not too long ago. After reading it, I decided that if Debra Anastasia asked me to jump, I would ask, how high?! 

I wanted to take part of the app release because I love all things Poughkeepsie and wanted to go deeper into the story. I had so much fun with this!! Little notes about certain passages that were written, great music to coincide with the story. Lots of extras all throughout. As soon I opened the app, I was immediately sucked in and stayed that way for a couple hours. I wish Debra and everyone working on this project nothing but success!

Debra Anastasia is busy, just like every other mom. What can I say other than I love Debra Anastasia?! I have been waiting impatiently for this book ever since I read Poughkeepsie over a year ago! It was one of the most beautiful stories that I’d ever read and could not wait to get my hands on book 2.

One of the things I loved about this book was even though the focus is on Beckett and Eve, we still get in the heads and lives of Blake, Livia, Cole and Kyle. We share their love and heartache and I fell more in love with each of them all over again.

Beckett wants to be a man that deserves Eve. He still loves her fiercely but his past just doesn’t want to let go. For the last several years he has made a new life for himself. And that includes giving jobs to people that wouldn’t normally get hired and even giving a dog on death row a home. But situations arise where you just have to kill a man. Beckett has been gone so long that he fears he’s not needed anymore. But that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Eve also has a new life. And, an actual job, in an office! But while she’s training at the gym she’s approached for another job. If she doesn’t show up, there will be consequences. Next thing she knows, her dad is in the hospital and he’s been used as a punching bag.

Someone knows that Beckett is still alive and they are working on bringing him back to town. And, when he gets the call from Blake that Livia has been abducted, he’s there as soon as possible.

This group of characters is incredible. Their stories will break your heart then mend it to be stronger. And Beckett? I want him to have his happy ending so badly with Eve! They deserve it so much. We get a small taste of book 3 and I can already tell it’s going to be a good one. I really hope you enjoy Return to Poughkeepsie as much as I did!
