Author Mia Asher’s first book
(Arsen) will forever be on my list of fave all time books. Can I say the same about her second release?
It’s difficult to compare them because Arsen is standalone book while Easy
Virtue is a two book series. It is
different in style from Arsen – and that’s a very good thing. Mia definitely stretched her wings writing a
character like Blaire. Part of me wanted
to hate Blaire but I couldn’t! Blaire is
ice cold, calculating and unapologetic but she never pretends to be
otherwise. To an extent, she is a
product of her upbringing and as soon as she can shake the dust off her shoes –
she does.
Blaire sees herself as a
commodity. Her time and her body is for
sale to the highest bidder. Her plan is
to connect with power, influence and money.
Enough money so that she never has to worry about it again. She likes her sex fast, hard and gritty. Personally, I think it’s because that way her
mind and heart is never involved.
Many say that love will set you free, but I
disagree…
love is a cage, a very painful one;
it’s gilded bars made with yearning, heartache, and unfulfilled dreams.

See what I mean? This girl is a
trip! You know that saying “man makes plans and God laughs.” How could she know that a chance meeting in a
park with a little boy would change her chosen path? Enter “Ronan”. Seemingly, he’s an ordinary genuinely good
guy. Soooo what’s the problem? He does not have the influence and wealth
that Blaire craves. The other
problem? Ronan makes her feel things
that she does not EVER want to feel.
Blaire is comfortable when only her body is involved. When the rules of the games are spelled out
from the get go. Enter “Lawrence”. Willing to pay whatever price to keep Blaire
at his beck and call. He can guarantee
her a bid payday but nothing else.
What’s a girl to do? Going for the $$ would be the easy answer for
Blaire. My dear reader, you’ve
forgotten, haven’t you? This is a Mia Asher
book! Things are going to be twisty,
turny, sexy, angsty deliciousness but never easy. Once again Mia weaves a story that keeps us
turning the pages and leaves us wanting more.
