Blurb:
A Night to Forget is the first book in the two-book series, Emma's Story. The second book in this series, The Day to Remember is scheduled to be released in August 2013.
What happens in Cancun doesn’t always stay in Cancun.
When Emma Anderson and her friends decided to spend their senior year Spring Break in Cancun, she expected some crazy memories to end their final college days. What Emma didn’t expect was to meet Brandon Fisher. Tall and sexy, with dimples that would make any girl swoon, Brandon Fisher was literally the man of Emma’s dreams. She couldn't quite believe that this stranger, who seduced her every night in her dreams, actually existed.
After serendipitously bumping into each other, Emma could not resist Brandon’s pull and spent an unforgettable night with him. Passing it off as a spring break fling, Emma never expected to see Brandon again. But when she started her first day at her new job a few months later, there he was. The only problem was, Brandon didn’t even remember her.
Jenn's Review:
An ARC was provided for an honest review.
Emma has been dreaming of the same man for the past few
months. She’s never seen him but knows she wants him. However, she’s been
dating Mike for a long time and it hasn’t felt right to give her virginity to
him. He’s finally had enough of that and ends things with Emma right before her
Spring Break trip to Cancun. What better way to spend a week in Cancun? Single
with your best friends!!
Emma’s friend, Jill, has kept them busy everyday and they
are finally relaxing on the beach. And while standing on the beach she actually
sees the guy she’s been dreaming about! She knows it’s him, she’s seen him
nightly for months now! Having to look away from him then turning back, he’s
gone. Her friends love the idea that she should find him and sleep with him. It’s
meant to be! A couple nights later, after she missed the boat for a booze
cruise, she’s well past drunk at the bar and HE comes over to talk to her! He
wants to keep her company since he was the consultant for the cruise she
missed. Offering more drinks, he asks if she’s like to go watch the sunset at
his favorite place on the beach. Once there and talking, she decides the
universe did make this happen and she wanted him, badly. Her dream is actually
going to come true!
She wakes up the next morning in his bed and it’s almost
time for her to leave for the airport! Trying to wake him up doesn’t work, so
she leaves a note with her number instead. Except he never calls. She’s
devastated and feels used. That is kind of how it goes though. Even though she
felt a connection with him, they had just met.
Emma has now moved and is starting her new job. As you know,
he ends up working with her and doesn’t even remember who she was! That just
seals it that it was nothing but a mistake and if he has no idea who she is,
then she’s going to forget too.
I enjoyed this story so much! I read it in one sitting and
couldn’t wait to see what happens next. There were times I was laughing,
cringing in embarrassment or sighing in contentment. Jessica wrote a fun story
and it a joy to read. I think it is a great beginning for her. A Night to
Forget ends on a cliffhanger and I’m already anxious to see how it will end. 4/5
