In Hopeless, Sky left no secret unearthed, no feeling unshared, and no memory forgotten, but Holder’s past remained a mystery.
Still haunted by the little girl he let walk away, Holder has spent his entire life searching for her in an attempt to finally rid himself of the crushing guilt he has felt for years. But he could not have anticipated that the moment they reconnect, even greater remorse would overwhelm him…
Sometimes in life, if we wish to move forward, we must first dig deep into our past and make amends. In Losing Hope, bestselling author Colleen Hoover reveals what was going on inside Holder’s head during all those hopeless moments—and whether he can gain the peace he desperately needs.

Jenn's Review
I was so excited to learn that Losing Hope was going to be
written! I didn’t know what to expect, other than hearing the story from Dean
Holder’s prospective. I didn’t care that it may be the same story as Hopeless
just from his POV. Instead, I got so much more. It was still beautiful but
Holder’s heartbreak was twofold. Losing his sister, which we go through with
him and the loss of Hope when he was a child.
Holder learned to deal with his sister’s death in his own
way and it broke my heart every time he opened the notebook. But he was so
angry. We find out what happens when he get sent to his dad’s for a year and
why he comes back. And that is when he’s at the grocery store and sees Sky. As
he is getting to know her, he doesn’t want her to be Hope but he does. She has
a good life and sees that she is loved by her mom. He doesn’t want to disrupt
her life but we know at this time he has no idea why she was taken.
I loved being in Holder’s head, especially after he saw the
bracelet. You all know what I’m talking about. It was so hard for him to learn
the truth. This is another part when he just wanted Sky to be Sky. And he had
to keep this to himself. This tore him apart and we also get to see Breckin in
a new light. We all need a friend like Breckin! I love him even more.
Not every part of Losing Hope was a repeat of Hopeless and
that made it even better. Ms. Hoover also added a little extra at the end that
we didn’t get before. Just a little taste into their future and I ate it up!
Once again, she has given us a beautiful gift and if I could rate it more than
5 stars, I so would. I am very much looking forward to what she gives to us
next.
