Suppressing a grin, I cupped her cheeks again and covered her mouth with mine. Her lips parted, and our tongues met. I felt her relaxing, and in that moment, the questions in my head were answered and the answers satisfied me deeply. She was mine. No matter what came next. With a calm confidence, I knew I’d never let her go again. My mouth moved to her cheek. “Nobody’s getting over anybody here. So why torture us both?”
 Her body shook with her small laugh. “Aren’t you trained for torture?”
“Yes, but you’re not.”
She slid down and put her cheek against my chest again. My fingers threaded into her silky hair. She was so beautiful in my arms. Her head turned, and she rested her forehead on me, exhaling deeply. “I still don’t want a long distance relationship.”
 But her words didn’t knock the breath out of me like the first time. Back then, I wasn’t sure of anything. Now everything had fallen into place. Everything felt possible. I pushed against the mattress, sitting up and bringing her with me. Her green eyes glistened when they met mine, but I smiled. “So we’ll figure it out,” I said, smoothing my thumbs over her cheeks. “We’ll get through the weeks however we can, we’ll be together on the weekends, and we’ll figure out what the future’s going to look like. This distance is not forever.”
Her head dropped, but only for a moment. When she lifted it again, she moved forward, wrapping her arms around my neck. My hands spanned her waist before sliding up her body to her beautiful breasts. The scent of cactus flower surrounded me, and I lay her back, ready to catch up on all the days we’d missed. “Now, that first time was amazing, but it went way too fast.”
I covered one tight nipple with my mouth and then the other as her little moans began, her fingers threaded in my hair.
“You think?” she sighed.
“Yes,” I said against her body, traveling lower. I kissed her flat stomach, inhaling the warm perfume lingering on her skin. She whispered my name, and I gave her belly one more kiss before catching her thighs and spreading them open...

My heart is pounding like it’s going to burst out of my chest. This woman has no freaking clue what she does to me. Gah, or how good she feels. It’s far better than I could have ever dreamt. This goes above and beyond getting laid, and getting mine. This is all about giving. They say giving is better than receiving and in this case, trying to show her without words how much I love her, it is. I can sense through the way her body responds to mine, the look in her eyes, and by the few words that have been spoken, that she’s trying to show me that she feels exactly what I do. This first time experience between us is filled with pure need. We are able to show each other things we feel with something as simple as touch. I want to take her over the edge again, but I know I’m not going to last much longer because everything I’m feeling right now isn’t going to let me drag it out.

“You know, spitters aren’t quitters, Mallory.” Seth says in a serious tone as he pulls his face away from mine. “Okay,” I slowly drawl out, not sure where he’s going with this. “As long as you keep the lid on the juicer, you’re a winner in my book.” “What the hell is that supposed to mean?” I ask. He shrugs as his mouth starts to turn into that sly smile of his that I fine absolutely irresistible. “You know, you don’t jump ship before it’s even docked. You keep the lava contained while it’s erupting.” The he sighs. “As long as you let me nut in your mouth, I don’t care what you do with the contents.” I laugh. “Well, that’s good to know, but for a reason that I’m now sure you’re aware of, I’m still gonna taste your residual nut juice in my mouth whether I spit it or down it.”

It wasn’t supposed to happen this way. I wasn’t supposed to wake up in the bed next to another woman…her of all people. I’m all too familiar with the likes of her kind and it isn’t just because we use to be fuck buddies…back when I was into snorting shit up my nose. We meet Bailey as she’s getting ready for a much needed night out. Kali, a friend from the gym, and Bailey are going to ahockey game, then to the pub afterwards. She’s nervous and has no idea why. She used to go out all the time with her boyfriend, Hollister, but since they moved in together it’s stopped. Things started to change with Hollister after moving in with him and now that he’s out of town, she’s more relaxed than she’s been in a long time. I haven’t even met Hollister at this point and something is telling me I am not going to like him!

A chance encounter with Talon, our tall, dark and handsome hero, outside the bathroom will change everything for Bailey. She had already been having doubts about Hollister but a night of hanging out with Talon and his friends showed her there is better out there. And when Hollister comes home before planned, he lets it be known how much Bailey has upset him, with his hands. Bailey decides to leave town for a few days with Talon and Kali and tries to figure out what she needs to do. Bailey, I can tell you what you need to do!! 

Talon shows Bailey in every way possible that he will be there for and with her. But with this awful situation with Hollister, she doesn’t want to put him in that position. What she doesn’t seem to get is that he wants to be in that position. He wants to protect her from Hollister and provide a better future with her. When Bailey finally smartens up and moves out, she keeps to herself for quite a while. She doesn’t even let her family know what’s going on. 

It takes running into Talon again for the ball to get rolling. ABOUT DAMN TIME!!! When tragedy strikes and Bailey needs to fly home to be with family, Talon proves he’s the man, again. I enjoyed this story very much and there were a few times I would get frustrated. It was mainly the situation with Hollister and Bailey’s inability to leave him. I totally get that she had to have time to herself and heal. She also had to figure out what she wanted to do with her life and what that meant for her future. That said, I wish that Talon had ridden in on his horse and swept her away sooner. The things he did for Bailey had me reaching for the tissues and I thoroughly enjoyed the surprises he prepared for her. It was very touching and once again made me happy she had found her way.
