I once thought I didn’t want a wife and kids but it was because I hadn’t met the right person. Everything is different now—I’m married to the perfect woman and I can’t wait until she becomes the mother of my children.

I’m glad L asked me why I was anxious to begin our family. I’m not sure I would’ve ever been brave enough to volunteer that information. Fear. It’s not something a man likes to admit but that’s the beauty of my relationship with L. I can tell her anything.

She turns in my arms and kisses me between words. “You. Are. Amazing.”

“I’m glad you think so since it seems you’re stuck with me for the rest of our lives.”

“Happily stuck by choice. There’s a difference.”

I watch the sun dance on her face as the palm trees above move in the breeze. A shorter strand of hair at her temple has escaped her grasp and I tuck it behind her ear. “Are you truly happy?”

“It isn’t possible for me to be happier than I am in this moment.”

I grasp her face and look into her golden-brown eyes. I see her sincerity and know her words are true. She didn’t marry me for any reason other than her love for me, so Laurelyn Paige Prescott McLachlan is a woman to be treasured. “Nor could I.”

I lean down to scoop her from the ground and she squeals. “I think it’s time I carried my bride across the threshold. I want you to see the rest of the house.”

I turn the knob and gently push the door open with my foot. L is like a wide-eyed child. I return her to her feet and her head oscillates slowly as she takes it all in.

The floor plan is open so she’s able to see the living room along with the kitchen and dining room. She says nothing and I can’t tell if she likes it or not. “What are you thinking?”

“How much I love you,” she says, propelling herself into my arms for a kiss. “You take care of me,” she says against my mouth. “No one’s ever done that before.”

Jenn's Review: 

This novella gave me just enough to have me intrigued and left me wanting more. It takes place over the course of a week. But, there was plenty to happen in Kyle’s life and she has no idea what is happening to her.

Kyle is in school and works at night. While at work a man comes in, sits at his regular booth and doesn’t speak to anyone. This not just any man. He has been visiting Kyle’s dreams for months and she has no idea why. She never sees his eyes but for some reason, knows what they may look like.

Another matter surrounding Kyle are the deaths by a serial killer. The police are baffled because they cannot find the cause of death. No marks and no drugs. However, the bodies are much colder than they should be. Then Kyle starts noticing something about herself. While she is spending time with Colter, he begins to freezing. As in lips are turning blue and he’s shivering! But, this doesn’t scare him and he can’t stay away from her.

Everything comes to a head one night at work. She touches a patron at the restaurant where she works. Before she knows it, she is being beat by this woman. But why? What is going on and why did the man from her dreams save her?

Like I said, just enough to get me interested! I am looking forward to seeing how special Kyle really is and why she was chosen.

“Your hair must be worse than mine,” she giggles, pulling her lips from mine and tugging the thick, messy locks hanging over my shoulders. I grin. “Yeah.” “Any reason you keep it long?” she asks, using her fingers to untangle it. I shrug. “Just always been that way, so I figure it’s just easier to leave it there.” She continues tugging and pulling, until her fingers are gliding smoothly through it. “I like it,” she murmurs. “I’d like it even more if I could brush it.” I snort. “Ain’t gonna happen little darlin’.” She pouts, and I smirk, flicking her lip. “Don’t pout at me.” “It’s not un-manly to let a girl brush your hair.” “No,” I grin. “It’s just outright girly.” “It’s not!” “Is.” She gives me a lazy half smile, and then tugs at my hair again, until our lips are touching. Her stomach grumbles against mine. “Hungry?” I chuckle. She nods, stretching and shifting. “Yeah, but I think I need to shower more.” “You shower, I’ll get food.” She nods, grinning. “It sounds like a plan.” I crawl out of her bed, and sit on the side, ready to pull on my jeans when her hand reaches around, and her fingers curl around my soft c**k. It instantly jerks to life, swelling beneath her grips.

ABOUT M. STRATTON

M. Stratton is a wife and mother who grew up in a small town north of Chicago before moving to Arizona. She is currently working in accounting for a plumbing company. M. Stratton has spent years telling herself stories to fall asleep at night before deciding it was time to get them down on paper for the world to see. She currently has eight different stories fighting to be told. Like everyone else she was afraid to put the stories down and send to publishing companies. With the exception of three years spent in the middle of Nebraska, H.B. Heinzer has called southern Wisconsin home.
