I shook my head. I didn’t understand. All I understood was his voice had the power to make me come. The deep tenor vibrated through my heart, sending tiny orgasms exploding in my veins.
I needed to be touched. I needed to be kissed.
Kiss him. Let him know.
Launching upright, I splashed a wave over the tub. Q jerked back, but wasn’t fast enough. Wrapping my arms around his neck, I dragged him down toward me. His hand slipped on the rim, plunging his arms into the water, landing on either side of my body.
His mouth opened to curse, but I swallowed whatever he said. My lips stole his, and the moment I tasted him, I went a little mad.
My core squeezed with delirium, demanding to be filled. My eyes rolled back at the sheer bliss of kissing.
He tasted like freedom and violence and pain.
“Esclave…wait…” Q tried to speak, but he only gave me the opportunity to slink my tongue into his mouth. Joy bounced and fizzed in my heart, demanding more.
I moaned, dragging him closer. My hands dug into his hair, tugging with sharp-laced desire. His mouth opened, either in shock or passion—I didn’t hesitate. I thrust my tongue deeper into his mouth, willingly drowning myself in all things Q.

This series….is so beautifully dark. I cannot stress how
much I love this series. I love Tess and Q unconditionally. I wouldn’t change a thing about either one.
That was one of my biggest concerns with this, well, with any book that starts
out with such a dark ambiance. (It’s not all dark though…) I always wonder if
the author will have to sacrifice the personality in one of characters to bring
the story to settle in with the readers or just to end it smoothly. (Does that
make sense?) Miraculously, the predilections are no more; that type of
thing. However, I cannot praise Ms.
Winters enough for not sacrificing. Coming out of Quintessentially Q and coming into Twisted Together, you know there are more demons to work on. I am
thankful that their story didn’t end in QQ
because TT brought everything full
circle in all aspects.
The thing is that even though we left Q and Tess in a better
place than when QQ started, they were not miraculously better. Neither one.
Actually, they were still far from finding their HEA because they WERE
SACRIFICING who they truly were. They were acting normal when in fact they are
far from it. They love each other tremendously, but when they have been through
hell, and are the sadist and the masochist, nothing is as simple as just being
okay. The monsters just don’t become the angels.
“The sun turned to an eclipse and …I fell. Like an unwanted star I fell
from the promise of heaven and plummeted to where I belonged. Falling, falling,
falling. I fell straight into hell.”
It’s hard for some people to understand the things that make
Tess and Q tick. I for one, would never be up for the things they prefer but I
understand people are different. AND
this is just a story folks. We don’t have to agree with it. I truly never felt
awkward reading their story. I never felt like he was debasing her in a way
that felt wrong. The relationship felt right. (Maybe that says something about
me, I don’t know.) Somehow, I understood their needs and their relationship.
Somehow? Well, I know how. The writing. The relationship and its struggles are
thoroughly articulated. Empathy is a
powerful thing. These two are damaged, deeply damaged. This changes who they
are to the core. It affects how they heal. So, when things get even more
twisted and murky don’t be alarmed. They do it together. Ha, they are twisted
together. (Pun intended.)
I purposely didn’t discuss what
exactly happens in this installment. Part of the experience is
not knowing what is going to happen. It
creates the angst and the anticipation. I wouldn’t want to ruin it for you. I
for one like not knowing. Of course, you know there’s marriage talk and dangers
looming in the background. The
adventures and escapades in TT will not let you down. Ms. Winters packs it in
and doesn’t short change anything. Perfect ending.
I can
tell you- incase my review doesn’t drive it home-that this is a 5 STAR read for
me.
