We
are back with Olivia and Dean West and thankfully Allure picks up where Arouse
left off. And, in case you forgot, it’s shagging in the coat closet at a
Christmas party! The good professor certainly has a way about him! Allure has
both POV’s as well as past and present in the story. I love this! You learn so
much from this and Oh My Goodness, the passion they have! I love reading about
it from both perspectives!
Even
though they seem pleased about the pregnancy, Olivia fears they are still not
strong enough in their marriage. Dean starts looking towards the future and takes
responsibility for everything happening. He feels it’s his fault Liv is
pregnant, as well as, the gap between them. He is still trying to protect her
from everything, including shielding her from his family and isn’t being
forthcoming with all that’s going on with him, outside of their marriage.
Liv
is trying so hard to show Dean that he doesn’t always need to shelter her. She
loves that he still wants to protect her but she’s strong, resilient and had
learned at an early age, how to be on her own. She starts making “Liv’s
Manifesto” with affirmations of what she will do. She wants to figure out what
she’s good at, wants to figure out who she
is.
When
tragedy strikes Dean’s family, Olivia is ready to stand by his side. In front
of a family that does not like her and makes it known. Again, Dean wants to
shield her from this and tries to get her to stay home. Since she wants nothing
to do with this idea, they both pack and leave for California. Many ups and
downs meet them while there and tragedy strikes again. This time Olivia is
alone. Dean is so tired of his wife hurting. He is still blaming himself for
everything gone wrong with them.

Nina
Lane did it again! She has given us passion, joy, heartache and trials in this
story. Not all of their issues are resolved in the end but it does end with Liv
and Dean in a good place. Olivia may think Dean was her knight in shining
armor, her saving grace. In truth, Olivia saved Dean. She wanted the man he
already was, not the one he could become. In return, she gave him everything he
never knew he wanted and now cannot live without.
