***Blog Tour and Giveaway*** Truly Helpless (Nature of Desire Series) by Joey W. Hill

Being truly helpless is the only thing that can save him. But it’s the one thing he’s not willing to do.
Marius has all the things a Mistress could want in a one-night-sub encounter. Hot body, loads of charm and a willingness to get her off in any way she pleases. That’s his reputation at The Zone. But Marius has a dark side. When a Mistress pushes him for something deeper, he’ll push back, mess with her head. When he takes it too far one night, The Zone management has had enough. He’s kicked out of the club and there’s only one way back in—Lady Regina.
Regina’s been studying Marius for a while. She enjoys her submissives in all flavors, and she likes them challenging, though not usually the “knight-in-distress” type, so screwed up she’d need a backhoe to dig him out of his dysfunctions. But on that pivotal night, she sees something in Marius. He doesn’t know what it means to be truly helpless to a Mistress, but he needs it, more than any sub she’s ever encountered. And that’s a challenge this Mistress can’t resist.

Excerpt

Background: Regina is tending Marius after he competes in an illegal fight…

She stepped back. “You’ll do. I suppose you know a hot shower when you get home is the best remedy, on top of the ibuprofen you just took. Though I’d highly recommend a tetanus update and having your head examined.”
He kept staring at her. He wanted to make her nervous with his silence. Tough luck with that, boy, she thought. You want to self-gag, it doesn’t bother me.
Answering in kind, she tossed one final wipe into the trash and headed for the door. Embracing her Mistress side meant understanding there was an energy flow between Dom and sub once a connection was made, even if the connection was the rope in a tug of war. She rode that energy how it was meant to be ridden, not forcing her own expectations on it. It worked better that way. She’d accomplished what mattered most to her here, which was confirming he’d finally released that surfeit of potent energy from his session at the club earlier in the night. He was leveling out. While he could likely use a lot more aftercare, they were quite a distance from him earning that kind of treatment from her.
“You don’t want to talk about what happened in Tyler’s office?” he said abruptly. “Or why you followed me here?”
“No.” She continued to move toward the opening that would lead back to the ring area and then the parking lot. She didn’t need or want to stay any longer. She didn’t anticipate that he would do or say anything to hold her there longer, so it was a pleasant surprise when he did.
“You didn’t say what you thought of the fight.”
She pivoted and met his gaze. “No, I didn’t. Would you like to know?”
He could look wary, like an animal being baited into a trap. He had thick, dark lashes. His gray eyes were like the mirror surface of a lake. “Yeah,” he said at last.
“Okay.” She returned to him. There was a pen sitting next to the tray of gauze. Picking it up, she extended her hand, looking pointedly at one of his. When he offered it, she clasped his wrist and wrote an address on the inside of his forearm, along with Friday, 6:30pm.
His fingers flexed above her grip and she was aware of his breath stirring tendrils of hair against her cheek. Her hip pressed against his knee. She imagined sliding between his spread thighs, tasting the metallic flavor lingering on his lips, feeling the flex of his shoulder muscles under her splayed fingers and firm palms. His hands would curve over her hips, his own fingers digging in, showing he wanted and needed her.
Careful, girl, she thought. Don’t screw with your own head. He’ll do enough of that without your help.
“Meet me there and I’ll tell you.” Setting the pen aside, she laid a hand on the side of his face. His gaze lifted to her. “Get some rest. Take care of yourself.”
When he started to lift his hand to clasp her arm, she drew back and shook her head, a denial. His lips set in a thin line. “That a command, Mistress?” he asked tonelessly.
“Take it however you want.”
He curled his fingers around the edge of the table, body leaning forward, eyes suddenly cold and hard. “It wouldn’t matter, anyway, since you don’t really like me.”
“No. I don’t,” she responded frankly. “But I care about you. That doesn’t require that I like you.”
Jenn's Review
WOW!! Are you in the mood for some strong characters? And not just in the physical sense. I’m talking about having enough strength to keep your demons at bay, when all you want to do is beat someone to the edge of death. But, I’m also talking about having the strength to see what’s truly inside someone and knowing you can’t give up on them…no matter the consequences.

Maruis has been on a downward spiral for a long time. The people around him saw the change in him but, didn’t know what to do to help him or even slow him down, on his path of destruction.

Lady Regina has seen quite a bit in her life.  She worked as a correctional officer while in school and her life as a Mistress has given her many opportunities to get into the minds of men. Some are honest in their ways and others are lying to themselves. Since she’s been watching Marius, she can see that he is a ticking time bomb. She just has no clue how deep that torment goes. Maruis needs lots of help. He has messed with the minds of so many Dommes that none want to play with him as a sub. He’s holding onto something so dark that when the right triggers are touched, he turns into an angry beast. And it can get extremely ugly. Regina agrees to intervene, but she’s going to need some help.

AND, Joey lets us see Marguerite and Tyler again!! Their story was truly one of my most favorite books, EVER! I didn’t realize how much I had missed them until Regina needs their help and advice.
This story was fantastic. Watching Marius face his fears and heartbreaking and seeing Lady Regina nurture and care for him was the balm I needed. There were times that I felt like it was too wordy. That was the only turn off for me. However, the thoughts of the characters and her explanations were needed for the story to flow. So, it was my issue, not the author’s.

***Blog Tour Stop*** Worth the Wait by Joey W. Hill

Is he worth the heartbreak? At nearly forty, Julie isn’t so sure she’ll ever find a man who is, so she’s vowed that all her big 4-0 decisions will have zip to do with relationships. A successful theater manager, she agrees to travel to North Carolina and help a friend put her erotic performance theater on its feet. Julie has always been curious and drawn to the BDSM world, and now she can safely explore that world in the environment she knows best.

Desmond Hayes is the roofing contractor repairing their rundown theater building, but he’s also a rigger, well-known in the BDSM world for his rope artistry. He’s not just a top, though; he’s a Dom whose unexpected quirks mesh too well with Julie’s eccentric personality and awaken her submissive side.

From the time he was born, Des has been fighting the odds against him. Because of that, he’s kept his relationships inside the BDSM scene, with clear boundaries. While Julie has almost given up on finding a person worth loving through better or worse—or pleasure and pain—Des never expected to receive that gift.

He’s not letting that treasure get away—no matter how much rope he has to use to bind her to him.

“Joey translates the world of BDSM with such intense power and exquisite beauty. LOVE is the most powerful element entwined through the Dominance and submission.”  --Goodreads, Jx PinkLady

Excerpt

“So why do you come to the orchid conservatory?” Julie asked. “What do you like about it, beyond the obvious that it’s amazing?”
Des stopped before a trio of white orchids. “Notice the shape of the petals. When I look at them, I imagine transforming the female form into the same shapes, using rope. I get a lot of ideas from gardens, particularly orchids.”
He traced the air before one of the flowers. “Imagine that’s her thigh, lifted, bound to her ankle. Her back arched, arms behind her so her breasts form this curve here… I’d suspend her, but I’d also twist a rope beneath her, so it would become the stem of the flower and anchor her.”
As he described it, she could see it. “Why does it give you such a charge? It’s not just about tying a woman up so you can do whatever you want to her. Or is it?”
He gave her a quick, very male smirk. “That’s a very important perk. But yes, there are other reasons. I explore a lot of rope disciplines, and one of my personal favorites is semenawa, torture rope. Not as scary as it sounds. It's about contrasting stimuli."
He shifted behind her. "Pull all your hair over your right shoulder."
He could say things in a manner that wasn’t saying them at all, as much as commanding them. What made it so intoxicating was that he pulled it off in such an unexpected moment. Des didn't appear the commanding sort…at first glance. Yet he could compel a woman’s attention with his unwavering gaze, the set of his jaw and an energy that emitted from him even when he was saying nothing at all.
"The other right shoulder." His voice held heat with humor, acknowledging the reason for her distraction. When he shifted closer, his breath stirred the fine hairs on her exposed neck. His body didn't touch hers, but a dense aura stroked her, a cushion of magnetism between two closely aligned bodies, the strength of his interest in her, his desire.
Curving his hand over her hip, he put his lips over the pounding pulse in her throat. A small breath escaped her, a shudder swaying her into a light brush against him. He moved in, and his lips parted, tongue teasing her.
"See how the top part of the orchid is slightly twisted?"
She nodded, her eyes fixed on it. His grip left her hip and cupped her hand, her knuckles nested in his palm. His thumb came over them to press into the flesh at the base of her fingers while his other fingers constricted, capturing her hand fully. Slowly, as his mouth stimulated a thousand nerve endings in her throat, he began to turn her wrist. Not a lot, but his hold and the angle made her gradually aware of pressure and his strength, discomfort edging toward pain. Just when she thought she was going to have to ask him to stop, he did, holding her hand at that unnerving stress point.
His lips created a lot of mad swirling between her chest and the folds of her sex. His inflexible restraint on her hand sent a bolt straight to her core just as powerful. The mix of sexual stimuli had her reaching for his hand on her other hip to steady her, even as things became far less steady.
"Imagine I can tie you in the shape of that flower,” he said, lifting his mouth a fraction from her skin. “I can. You’ll struggle between pain and ecstasy, and I’ll use both to break you into a world of your mind you can't imagine, where every reaction you have belongs to me. I have full command of your senses, your body. You're not even sure if your soul belongs to you anymore. You’re stretched to your physical limits, but you’re aroused, too, not wanting the tension to end.
“Earlier, you asked what kind of Dom I am. That’s your answer.”

Jenn's Review

To begin, I have been reading and LOVING Joey’s work for years! My love for her work began with The Vampire Queen’s Servant and almost 9 years later, I get excited when I see a new release is coming.
I learned early on, you can’t just read her books. You experience them. If you have not had that feeling with books that you’ve read, then you are most certainly missing out.
It’s been quite a while since I have read anything by Joey and as soon as Worth the Wait appeared on my kindle, I dropped everything I was doing and began reading. I was not joking when I said you experience the stories. The descriptions she gives you allows a movie in your mind to play out. With Des, our hero, being a well-known rigger in the BDSM scene, he turned his rope work into an art form. I got to see it all. It may have been my imagination, but it was beautiful, hypnotic and wonderfully sensual.
Julie is starting a new chapter in her life. She works in theater, behind the scenes, and her newest project will be bringing BDSM to the stage, with real Doms and subs. Here, Joey introduces readers to many forms play. If you’re not new to Joey’s work, you may already be familiar. Otherwise, you are in for some education and lots of surprises.
Both Julie and Des have put relationships on the back burner. Julie is happy with her life. She works hard, gets to see the fruits of her labor and has the best of friends.
Des has plenty on his plate. He owns a roofing company and his health isn’t the greatest. He doesn’t want a woman to get tangled up in his life, if he’s only going to hurt them down the road. But, he quickly sees that Julie isn’t just any woman. As for Julie, Des definitely isn’t like the men that have hurt her in the past.
Worth the Wait dives deep into the Dom/sub relationship. But, when both characters are new to the strong bond these two have, the will have to figure out if they want to fight the pull or embrace it. There is much to consider and even more to lose.
One thing about Worth the Wait is the amount of research Joey had to have done. She doesn’t mess around with details that are guesses or opinions.
Don’t you love it when you want to keep talking about a story, but are afraid that you will give it all away?! That’s me, right now. It’s time I leave you to it and I HIGHLY recommend diving into the many worlds that Joey W. Hill has given us over the years. You may even recognize several names in Worth the Wait. I certainly did, and I decided I need to visit them again!

***Cover Re-Reveal*** After Life, Hostile Takeover and Willing Sacrifice by Joey W. Hill

Afterlife-Cover-lg
Blurb Part of the Knights of the Board Room series. Rachel gave up seeking a Master years ago. After a failed marriage and terrible tragedy, she's walled her soul against going down that dangerous path again. Then Jon joins her yoga class. He's thirteen years younger than she, but his Dominant nature threatens her shields from the moment she recognizes it. Not only does he understand what her body wants-he knows what her soul craves. Part of the five-man executive team of Kensington & Associates, Jon uses his calm, philosophical nature to defuse volatile acquisition negotiations. He can compel opponents to willingly surrender when he draws the sword that closes the deal. As a sexual Dominant, he employs that same expertise. A spiritually driven Master who enjoys connecting with a woman's soul, he wins her utter submission with his skills. But with Rachel, it goes beyond that. She's the submissive his own soul has always hungered to have, and he won't hesitate to use his talents, as well as that of the other four K&A men, to claim her. Publisher's Note: Rachel's sensual journey to healing contains light female/female exploration and group sex.

Hostile-Takeover-Cover-lg   Blurb Ben is the last unattached member of the five-man executive team of K&A Associates. The other four, all Masters, have found the submissive of their dreams. That’s fine. The sharp-edged lawyer knows he’s the most hardcore of all of them, with extreme tastes as a Master he satisfies physically through experienced club submissives. He doesn’t really need anything more than that. Marcie has loved Ben since she was sixteen. He’s never behaved as anything more than a protective big brother, a family friend. But now she’s twenty three and starting her career as a corporate investigator. She may be a blood-and-bone deep submissive, but she won’t hesitate to use her aggressive talents to prove she’s meant to be his. With a Master as tough as Ben, she’ll have to take whatever measures are needed—even if her deepest desire isn’t a hostile takeover of his heart, but an unconditional surrender to it. Reader Advisory: Marcie’s sexual journey contains a group scene of female/female sexual exploration. The Masters also share her in a brief group scene.

Willing-Sacrifice-Cover-lg   Blurb Janet Albright prefers her men submissive, her relationships confined to a club environment. Which is why her attraction to former Navy SEAL Maxwell Ackerman doesn’t make a lot of sense. There isn’t a submissive bone in his muscular body, suggesting her interest in the man is best indulged as a private fantasy. When a crisis situation reveals different sides of them both, the attraction becomes mutual and undeniable. Janet and Max take the plunge, willing to see if the give-and-take of their unexpected relationship can satisfy their deepest desires. Until ghosts from their past emerge, threatening to destroy the delicate balance of power before their love can find a way to tip the scales.
