Title: Point of Return (Nordic Lords #1)
Author: Stacey Lynn
Release Date: April 22, 2014
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Deceit. Destruction. Death. Olivia Masters grew up familiar with all of them. The daughter of the President of the Nordic Lords Motorcycle Club, Olivia always knew she wanted nothing to do with any of it. Her plans were made to leave the town she grew up in as soon as she and her boyfriend, Daemon Knight, turned eighteen. But then Olivia was shot. Her mother killed in front of her. Fleeing became her reality. Forced to return to her hometown of Jasper Bay five years later, events beyond Olivia’s control put her directly back into the life she swore she’d never return to. Her dad wants her back in the family. Daemon wants her in his bed. But just as Olivia begins to accept her destiny, history finds a way to repeat itself. This time, will Olivia be strong enough to fight for the family she once turned her back on? Or will she once again flee from the only life that has ever felt like home?

Deleted Scene
“Good evening, Olivia, I’m Doc.” He was older, maybe in his fifties like my dad. But his eyes held a tenderness even though I knew he held a bucket of secrets in them at what he had seen. If he was a doctor for The Black Death, there was no way of telling the things he knew. His graying hair was pulled back into a low ponytail at the base of his neck and I saw a variation of a club’s tattoo on his neck. The letters “BD” prominently displayed with an arrow woven through them. He wasn’t just a doctor. He was a member. “It’s nice to finally meet you. Heard a lot about the Prez’s daughter over the years.”
My shoulders tightened at hearing about my dad. I said nothing as I watched him carefully.
Beneath me, Daemon’s arm tightened and then let me go. “He has to check you out, Liv.”
I bristled at the nickname only he had ever been allowed to call me. Liv. Live. The one thing I had never truly done.
I nodded and shifted on the bed as the covers were moved and then adjusted over my lap. I closed my eyes but gripped Daemon’s hand with mine.
My head turned to the side, away from both of them as the pain caused tears to flow down my cheeks again. At least I didn’t throw up again.
A few minutes later, the blankets shifted again and the weight on the bed told me Doc was done. His warm hand rested on my thigh and I turned my eyes back to him.
“You’re a brave girl. I can’t see anything that’s wrong, but I’m going to give you a shot of Pitocin. It will make your muscles contract and stop the hemorrhaging.”
“No shots.” I hated the idea. I hated needles. Ironic that I worked in a tattoo parlor, I knew that.
He just nodded and Daemon’s hand gripped mine tighter. “It will only hurt for a second.”
And then a searing pain shot through my thigh. It happened right after the warning and I wasn’t given the time to prepare. I also wasn’t given the time to tense up.
“Ahhhh!” I cried out in pain and squeezed Daemon’s hand so tightly I was certain I could break his bones. He said nothing, but I noticed he was grinding his teeth together. And then the pain and the needle were both gone.
Doc gazed at me with sorrowful eyes. “Sometimes it helps to not know exactly what’s coming. Sorry for scaring you.”
I shook my head and squeezed my eyes shut to prevent more tears from falling. I had cried enough in the last ten hours to last a lifetime. Probably more than I’d cried in my lifetime.
“You shouldn’t be alone for the next twelve hours at least.”
“I’ll stay with her.”
I glared at Daemon. Maybe I was thankful he came to help, but I resented him so easily ingratiating himself into my life. “No. You won’t.” I turned to Doc. “I’ll be fine.”
He wrote his cell number on a card and dropped it in my lap. “Call me if you need me.” He nodded at Daemon and then he was gone as quietly as he came.
“Your dad will put me to ground if I don’t stay. I’m not leaving you alone again.” He shoved his hands through his hair, dislodging his ponytail. I watched his hair fall and frame his face, almost brushing my forehead he stared at me so closely. “Shit. I never should have left before. I knew that prick wouldn’t take care of you the right way.”
I sat up and pushed him away. I ignored the pain in my abdomen and the dull ache in my thigh from the needle. “Shut up. You don’t get to say that shit about Travis. He’s always been there for me.” Like you weren’t. I let the last of my thought linger silently between us.
A muscle in his jaw clenched. “You don’t know shit about what happened. And I’m not leaving until I know you’re okay.”
“Of course,” I replied smugly. “Heaven forbid the son my dad never had walk away from the daughter he never wanted.”
His lips pressed into a line so thin they disappeared. I watched his chest heaving deep breaths. He exhaled forcefully, and I smelled his breathe. Booze and smoke mixed with….sex.
I gagged. “Get your pussy breath away from me.”
“Jealous?” An eyebrow rose.
Absolutely not. The lie twisted in my stomach. I knew the familiar fire in me that once told me he belonged to me and only me and I’d kick any girl’s ass who looked at him the wrong way. Growing up in the Black Death, everyone learned to fight; even the girls. “Disgusted,” I sneered and rolled away from him. “There’s an extra tooth brush in the bathroom cupboard. Use it and you can sleep on the couch.”
“I’ll use the brush,” he spoke softly and rose from the bed. “But I’m not sleeping on that couch.”
“Then go home.”
“Liv,” he scolded in that demanding and confident voice he hadn’t possessed when we were younger. I turned my head slowly, unable to ignore him. “I’m not leaving. I’m going to brush my teeth, climb into your bed, and take care of you the way a man should. Just because you’ve been with that prick for so long, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t know what it’s like to have a real man around.”
“And you’re going to teach me, I take it.”
“I’ll teach you everything you want to know.” He smiled seductively.
“Fuck off.”
“We can do that, too,” he muttered under his breath as he walked toward the bathroom.
I ignored it.
I also ignored him when he climbed back into my bed in only his boxer briefs and pulled me to his chest.
Then I ignored the way my heart skipped a beat at the feel of his arms wrapped around me and his warm, fresh minty breath on my neck, and the way the scruff of his cheek tickled my sensitive neck skin.
I hated him. I hated his life and everything he stood for. I hated the way he left me, feeling used and tossed aside for the promises made by my lying asshole of my father.
Mostly, I hated that my heart clearly didn’t think the same things as my head. Wrapped in Daemon’s arms felt too comfortable, too much like the safety of home I hadn’t had in years.
So I ignored all that too and closed my eyes.

 Jenn's Review

The prodigal daughter has returned home and has done her best to have a normal life. With a normal boyfriend. But, the princess of the Nordic Lords MC can’t do that. It takes a little while before she figures out that a normal life is not in the cards for her anyway.

Olivia knows loss and did her best to get away. Well, now that she’s back, she is also learning how live. Really live and move on from the past. But, good grief! That girl remains on the receiving end of pain. Literally and figuratively. Olivia is one tough cookie and she better be. With everything falling apart around her, she has to learn to trust Daemon again. That won’t be easy. She lost him once already. Who’s to say it won’t happen again.

OK, I inhaled this book and barely came up for air! I love a good MC book and Point of Return has it all, in my opinion! The pain, grit and blood. Not to mention the suspense, action and secrets. Lots of secrets. I may have shed a tear or two, as well. Olivia proves how strong of a woman she is throughout the entire book.  I absolutely cannot wait for book 2! I need to see what happens to the people I met!!

Point of Return is 5 stars for me. Even if I had wanted to take a break reading, it wouldn’t let me! Once I started reading, I was sucked right in and just had to hold on for the ride.

***Blog Tour Stop*** Soul Scavengers: Wilde and the Witch by Lisagh Winters

Psychic medium Olivia Emerson is young, gutsy, and out to prove she’s got what it takes to hang with the big boys. Although haunted by a past that threatens to consume her, Olivia accepts a job on a snow covered island that could make or break her career. She just needs to keep her past where it belongs- behind her. She knows this job could be her foot in the door, and hopefully the vehicle she needs to break into the business and take the next step up. The only problem; she’ll be working with him.
Paranormal investigator Sullivan Wilde has a healthy dislike for anyone claiming to hear or communicate with spirits. To him, they’re all frauds. He learned firsthand that just because you want to believe, doesn't make it real.

When Sullivan’s forced to work with Olivia, he’s not happy about it. She exasperates him, pushes his buttons, and doesn't have a shut off valve for that mouth of hers. He doesn't believe in her ‘gift’, and makes no apologies for it. Yet, as much as he tries to deny it, there’s something about Olivia that gets under his skin. The moment they’re left alone on the dock of the island, devoid of living inhabitants, everything changes. Some unhappy spirits, coupled with Olivia and Sullivan’s burgeoning feelings for one another leave them with no choice but to rely on one another if they want to make it through the night. Can Sullivan and Olivia put their differences aside in order to finish the job and walk out alive?

Lesley's Review

Olivia  Emerson is sent to work as a clairvoyant medium with the mysterious Sullivan Wilde on a case that has most people scared. Sully and Ollie bump heads immediately. Sullivan doesn't believe people can talk to the dead and is down right rude to Olivia at times.

Work is work. Olivia is determined to do the job right. She needs to make a name for herself. Olivia can handle Sullivan.  These two embark on a trip to the frozen north and are shipped out to an isolated island that's screaming with paranormal episodes. These ghosts are trapped by something evil. Something so strong it brings her to her knees. Of course, Sullivan doesn't take her seriously until it's almost to late.

For me personally, I thought some parts were excellent but it fell short for me. I didn't connect with the main characters all that well. The main story though, was an interesting one, and could have been an epic one.  However, I could not find the connection. Therefor, the depth was not there for me.  I would have to rate this one 2 stars. I encourage those paranormal readers to form an opinion for themselves.  Like I said it had potential maybe you will connect with it where I failed to.

Ten Fun Facts about Lisagh

1- I learned to fly a Cessna 172
2- talented singer and artist (attached a sample of my artwork)
3- I am a firm believer in organic, heirloom seeds, and anti-GMO
4- I am a Pagan. I am an Earth Magic being
5- I traveled across Canada with my 12 year old son, not knowing where we were going or what was going to happen
6- I had Dalmatians my whole life
7- My dream car is a 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429
8- My guilty pleasures are Johnny Depp, Jerry O' Connell, and Mariana's Trench, lol.
9- I have been writing since I was twelve. It was a romance.
10- Do not look my real age

“You? You’re the clairvoyant?” This had to be a joke somebody was playing on him, and it pissed him right off. He made a mental note to choke Arnav when he got back home. “How old are you, fifteen?” No wonder she took the bus. She was a damned kid, probably too young to drive!
“Nice to meet you, too.” Olivia frowned and followed him around the vehicle. “Fifteen? What are you, blind?”
He gave her an appreciative glance up and down her dripping frame. “Absolutely not, I assure you. So answer the question. Do I need to sign some sort of parental permission slip?” he asked, turning away from her and digging through his pockets for a pen.

***Blog Tour Stop and Giveaway*** Alpha by Jasinda Wilder

The first time it happened, it seemed like an impossible miracle. Bills were piling up, adding up to more money than I could ever make. Mom's hospital bills. My baby brother's tuition. My tuition. Rent. Electricity. All of it on my shoulders. And I had just lost my job. There was no hope, no money in my account, no work to be found. And then, just when I thought all hope was lost, I found an envelope in the mail. No return address. My name on the front, my address. Inside was a check, made out to me, in the amount of ten thousand dollars. Enough to pay the bills and leave me some left over to live on until I found a job. Enough to let me focus on classes. There was no name on the check, just "VRI Inc.," and a post office box address for somewhere in the city. No hint of identity or reason for the check or anything. No mention of repayment, interest, nothing…except a single word, on the notes line: "You." Just those three letters.

If you receive a mysterious check, for enough money to erase all your worries, would you cash it?

I did.

The next month, I received another check, again from VRI Incorporated. It too contained a single word: "belong."

A third check, the next month. This time, two words. Four letters. "To me."

The checks kept coming. The notes stopped. Ten thousand dollars, every month. A girl gets used to that, real quick. It let me pay the bills without going into debt. Let me keep my baby brother in school and Mom's hospice care paid for. How do you turn down what seems like free money, when you're desperate? You don't. I didn't.

And then, after a year, there was a knock on my door. A sleek black limousine sat on the curb in front of my house. A driver stood in front of me, and he spoke six words: "It's time to pay your debt."

Would you have gotten in?

I did.

It turns out $120,000 doesn't come free.

Jenn's Review

Do you like to read books that heat you up from the inside out? Well take a seat and let me tell you about Alpha!
As you know from the synopsis, Kyrie has too many bills coming in and not enough money to go out. She takes care of her brother and mother. She’s getting evicted from her apartment and her only option is to stay with her friend, Layla. That’s when the checks start arriving.
She learns the truth of the checks when a man comes to retrieve her. Being whisked away, a blindfold placed over her eyes, she waits to meet her benefactor. But, it’s not immediate, that she can actually “see” him. Mystery man wants her to trust him before she can look him in the eye. Even though she cashed the checks, he gives her an out. He can send her home, but she must come up with the $120,000 to repay him and it will be over. There is NO way she can come up with the money, so she accepts her fate.
This is where a fan and an ice cold drink needed to be kept on hand. Even before the blindfold was removed, my glasses were fogging up from the steam! He gives her a bit of himself each time he is with her.  This man could melt the panties off an ice queen in seconds and she would welcome it!
But HE has secrets. Lots of them. She learns about the money and how he knew it was needed. The secrets he keeps could make or break Kyrie.
I highly recommend this book! I devoured it, reading as quickly as I could, then trying to slow down so I wouldn’t skip anything. I wanted more the second it was over. I give Alpha 4.5 out of 5 stars and when I get time, will be reading it again!
