Withstanding Me Synopsis

While the chaos and bloodshed have slowed for a short period, life is never quiet in the world of Breakneck. The club is taking time to regroup from internal betrayal and the changing of the guard in a rival group.
Zig Zag became a father at the age of thirteen. While raising a child has never been easy, now his eighteen year old daughter Tatiana makes his life downright hard. She has caught the eye of Travis, the new President of the rival MC Gunners, but all she really wants is Shadow, the newest addition to the Breakneck family. When Shadow’s rejection sends Tatiana running from the only family, home, and safety she’s ever known, ZZ is crazy with worry. The distraction caused by Tatiana’s disappearance could prove to be Zig Zag’s downfall.
If that isn’t enough, ZZ finds himself rampantly attracted to the one and only Storm.  She’s beautiful, quick and witty.  Their friendship is the one thing that keeps him from growing crazy, and Storm stands by ZZ through all the turmoil. Zig Zag is not accustomed to hearing the word no, so Storm’s constant withstanding just draws him in deeper.  Their friendship is one thing keeping him from going crazy, until one night…
The club is regrouping and rebuilding from the mayhem known as the Russian Mafia. A hit is ordered on Tatiana, Storm, Winter, and Piper. Braxxon is out of reach while he helps Greg Cage deal with some dirty business. Tatiana’s egg donor reveals secrets that a thirteen year old Zig Zag was too young to understand.
Bloodshed… Secrets… Betrayal… Trauma… Welcome back to the Breakneck world.

Title: Fixed on You

Author: Laurelin Paige

Release date: June 2013

Age Group: Adult

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Blurb:
Stalking and restraining orders are a thing of Alayna Pierce’s past. With her MBA newly in hand, she has her future figured out – move up at the nightclub she works at and marry the manager, David. He’s perfect for her because, although he’s attractive, he doesn’t get her all turned inside out and upside down like some other men have. It’s a safe plan, one that assures she’ll remain in control of her obsessive love disorder.

But what Alayna didn’t figure on is Hudson Pierce, the new owner of the nightclub. He’s smart, rich, and gorgeous – the kind of guy Alayna knows to stay away from if she wants to keep her past tendencies in check. Except, Hudson’s fixed his sights on her. He wants her in his bed and makes no secret of his plans to seduce her. Avoiding him becomes impossible after he offers a business proposition Alayna can’t turn down and she’s drawn further into his universe, unable to resist his gravitational pull.

Soon Alayna’s charmed by Hudson in every way possible and the control over her old behaviors slip. When she learns Hudson has a dark history of his own, she realizes too late that she’s fallen for the worst man she could possibly get involved with. Or maybe their less than ideal pasts give them an opportunity to heal each other and finally find the love their lives have been missing.

Sandy B's Review:
“Neither. I was attracted to him because he’s hot. Though, I stayed with him because he’s f*cking awesome in bed.” – Alayna
“I never pay for sex, Alayna. When I f*ck you, it will be for free.”- Hudson
First I’ll tell you what I didn’t like about Fixed on You:  It reminded me too much of Gideon Cross.  It is serialized so this short book is only the first part.  Though this one is not what I would call a cliffhanger.  Now, let me tell you what I did like:  The main characters are not perfect.  Both of these people have issues!  The sex scenes are well written.  The story keeps you interested and that my friends is the name of the game.
Hudson makes Alayna an offer she can’t refuse but doesn’t contend with the fact that they air between them is combustible!  Their past has always kept others at a distance but they soon find out that they cannot keep away from each other. Somehow, together, these two broken people make each other whole.
If you like it hot and sexy then by all means you will love Fixed on You.  If you like a smart heroine with sass but with a checkered past – you will love Layne.
If you like a sexy gorgeous alpha that comes on like a freight train when he sees what he wants – then you will love Hudson.
This was a fun smexy reads that will keep you turning the pages and wanting to read the continuation.

***Mikalos Fate by Sandra K Shaw Promo Post***

MIKALO’S FATE
bySyndra K. Shaw
Expected release July 26th

BLURB:

"The dream is coming true in this, Mikalo's Fate, the third installment in Syndra K. Shaw's story of Ronan and Mikalo.

After escaping the memory of her failed first marriage and allowing herself to love again, Ronan is finally walking down the aisle with Mikalo Delis, her Greek god in grey wool. But once in Greece, Ronan discovers that not all is as it appears to be with the Delis clan, their judgement and mistrust of her surrounding her every move. Then disaster strikes, an event so shocking it rips Mikalo's family apart, Ronan's dream quickly dying.

Her life with her beloved hanging in the balance, Ronan learns the only thing standing between her and "I do" is a surprise visit from a love lost long ago. But will it be enough? Or will she return to the States alone, her heart once again breaking as yet another love dies?"

Excerpt:
God, he was beautiful.
His dark eyes, patient and kind, his dark brows arching to meet in the middle as he watched and waited.  And his lips, so soft, so sexy, so luscious and kissable. The lightest bit of scruff on his chin and cheeks and upper lip.His strong nose.  And the way the corners of his eyes crinkled when he smiled.
I reached up and ran my fingers through his thick hair, moving close as I pressed my face into his chest, deeply breathing in his masculine scent.  Of soap and skin and warmth.  Of a beating heart beneath strong, firm muscle.  The memory of sun and sand and sex locked into his pores.
Again, he was beautiful.  Just beautiful.
And he was mine.
"You do not like the change, I think."
I lifted my head from his chest to look at him again.
"All of this," he continued, glancing at the thick sheets of plastic and tools and dust.  The temporarily quiet chaos of our lives being ripped to pieces.
"It is only for now, my Grace," he reminded me.  "This here, this mess, it is not forever.  It will be a home again.  Your home.  And my home."
His hand reached to cup my chin, his eyes crinkling as he smiled, his teeth white in the dark of the dusty room.
"It will be our home," he then said.  "It is our home.  Already."
He pulled me close again, my cheek finding his chest again, his arms squeezing me tight for a moment.
"This I already know," he continued, the words rumbling through his chest against my ear.
I moved away, leaving his embrace with a quick squeeze and a small smile.
I wanted to ask about Mara Byzan.  If this horrible little woman was really buying his companies. If Abby was really her lawyer.
But doing so would open up a can of worms I just didn't want to deal with.  Remind me  and him, in a roundabout oblique way, just how little I had to do with the planning of anything regarding the wedding, the decisions left to Mikalo and his family, their insistence on following tradition, of doing things "just right", effectively leaving me out of the process.
I didn't care, though.  I'd still be his wife regardless.  None of it mattered.  If there was a dance we needed to do to cement our bond, well, we'd strap on our tap shoes and dance.
I just didn't care.
But I did.
In fact, it was all but obsessing me.  Quietly, silently, sticking in my head.
I had no idea what kind of dress I'd be wearing.  I suspected it'd be, I don't know, some couture creation or something.  Or maybe not.  Perhaps it'd be an heirloom passed down?
Again, no clue.
And, again, I was trying not to let it matter.
But it did.
Still.
He was watching me, Mikalo.  His ability to read my thoughts so easily becoming frustrating and annoying.
I moved away, wandering over to the stairs to look up to where the bedroom was.  Where my bedroom was and still would be.
My hand on the banister, I climbed the stairs.
I could feel him follow me.
At the top, I turned toward the bedroom, aware he was close behind.
The room was empty, of course, the bed packed into storage long ago.  We had discussed getting something new, but Mikalo refused.
"This bed has our history," he insisted.  "It knows you and it knows me and now, after this time, it knows us."
And I agreed.  It was fine.  He was right.  It did know us and there was no need to change it.
The room looked empty without it.
He stood in the doorway watching me.
I moved into the bathroom, glancing over my shoulder at him as I stepped through the door.
Mischievous grin in place, he followed.

 Character Bio's:
Ronan Grace -- Not skinny, not jaw-droppingly gorgeous, and doing her best on a daily basis to bury the past, resigned to never find that mythical thing called True Love, Ronan is all of us.  But when she meets this almost too good to be true Greek stranger, everything changes.  Despite logic, she finds herself hoping.  Despite fear, she finds herself trusting.  And despite past disasters, she finds herself in love.  And now with her "I do"s to Mikalo only days away, Ronan finds herself believing, hoping against hope, that there could really be a Happily Ever After.

Mikalo Delis -- Ronan's "Greek god in grey wool", Mikalo Delis is deliciously gorgeous, unfailingly polite, ruthlessly honest, and ridiculously rich.  Tall and lean, muscular and sexy, his dark hair thick with a bit of a curl, his eyes even darker, he stole Ronan's heart the moment she saw him.  And he is absolutely besotted with her, eager to make her his, but insisting whatever love they have be done with honesty and full-disclosure, open to her secrets even though he's hiding a few of his own, and willing to fight for her, even if it's against a family he loves.

Deni Dollisandro -- Blonde, gorgeous, married to an incredibly successful man and living at a coveted address on Park Avenue, Deni is Ronan's best friend.  More like family, they've known, trusted, and loved each other too many years to count.  Marking time in a marriage that stopped working long ago, Deni is, without doubt, Ronan's chief supporter and #1 B.S. checker, always willing to call Ronan on her sh*t and bring her back to reality.  But now suddenly facing an unexpected divorce, the possibility that she could lose everything she's been surrounded by for years, Deni finds herself taking the first steps to discovering who she really is and creating a life that brings her true happiness.

Nona -- Very Greek, very tied to tradition, the undisputed, powerful matriarch of the vast Delis clan, Nona Delis is Mikalo's grandmother.  To call her formidable is an understatement.  And she is most definitely against Mikalo marrying this American he met only months ago.  But is her reluctance based on just that?  Or is there more to the story, her own past driving her unwillingness to allow Mikalo and Ronan their wedding bliss?

Damen Katsaros -- Dark-haired, sapphire blue eyes, a square jaw, and a disarming smile, Damen is Mikalo's lifelong best friend.  And between his naturally sweet disposition and chiseled muscles -- muscles earned under a broiling sun and in clouds of dust --, he's quite a catch.  An alpha male if there ever was one, he's driven, impatient, passionate, curious, not afraid to disagree, and more than a little afraid to truly fall in love.  But by the time Ronan and Mikalo say their "I do"s, he'll be wrestling with the impossible, his heart no longer his own as he stumbles into the emotional mess called True Love.

About the Author:
Would you guess the quiet girl sitting in the corner of the cafe would write steamy romance?  That behind her rather conservative skirts and jackets and the no-fuss-wash-and-wear haircut is someone who’s creating true love and heartbreak, earth shattering orgasms and heartache?
Well, that’d be me.  Mikalo’s Grace was my first book, Mikalo’s Flame my second.  Mikalo’s Fate is coming up soon (Summer 2013) and, after that, I’ll be releasing a companion series.  More books will follow, I’m sure.
And, still, I’ll do what I do and let the world pass me by, completely unaware of the smoldering volcano of lust bubbling in their midst.

Born in France, educated in England, Syndra K. Shaw now lives very quietly in Paris and New York.

***Sandy B's Review of Steal My Heart by Lisa Eugene with Giveaway***

Gabe’s passion spirals her to unimaginable heights. She soon starts to wonder if he is the real danger. Sandy B's Review
“This man was her captor, yet he freed her soul; he’d caused her agony, yet also delivered peace; every touch was euphoric pleasure, and still every word promised pain and heartbreak.” – Maggie
“If you don’t get off my lap right now, you’re going to be naked and riding me until this thing in my pants calms down!” - Gabe
This is Lisa Eugene’s second book and I can really “see” the growth in her style.  Her prose is crisp.  Her descriptions more vivid and colorful.  It’s a good thing for us as readers.Steal My Heart opens with our hero (I use the term loosely) being chased by some bad guys a-la Jason Bourne.  Our heroine Maggie is an OR nurse. She’s also a germophobe of the highest order.  OCD your name is Maggie.  Gabe ends up kidnapping Maggie but it’s for her own good – really – bad guys wanna end her.  They are both running for their lives with a flash drive full of confidential information.  Yet they both have to contend with this screaming hot attraction between them.  Oh! Wait!  Did I mention Maggie’s very gay BFF David?  He is fab-u-lous!
Check out one of my fave swoon worthy lines from Gabe -   “I need to feel you, baby.  So hot, so wet…so damn good…”  Yes Gabe you give me goosies!  Right there I was wishing I could switch places with Maggie and take my chances with the gun toting bad guys.  LOL.  Here is one from Maggie thinking about her weight that had me chuckling cause I totally get it - ..“she’d struggled to lose the extra weight that enjoyed residing at five foot four Maggie Lawson. PO Box ASS, Zip Code THIGS.  Seems it was its permanent address, and she’d come to accept the houseguests.”
Have you ever seen the Mel Gibson movie Payback?  You know from the get go that he’s a bad guy.  His wife & business partner had done him wrong so you find yourself rooting for him.  That’s how I felt about Gabe.  I was torn about his motives but I loved him anyway cause the he involved in something that was much bigger than he imagined.  Unknowingly, people he cared about were in peril and now he had to “fix” it.  Then he had to contend with his feelings for Maggie and a guy in his position has no business having feelings for a woman.  Nevermind, someone with Maggie’s special brand of quirkyness.  Maggie is funny though she’s really not trying to be.  Her life was safe, quiet and orderly with everything running on a schedule without deviation.  Then she gives a “hobo” mouth to mouth and her whole world goes to hell in a hand basket in the blink of an eye.
AND there is a twist, of course, but no, I’m not telling you!  What fun would that be if I spoiled it for ya?

The book is fast paced, fun to read and keeps you turning the pages to find out what happens next.  Steal my Heart gives you adventure, romance and brings the smexyin a really good way.  What else could you possibly want?  I expect that Lisa’s style will continue to flourish.  I’m a reader and a fan so I will continue to enjoy her books.  Hey Lisa! When’s the next one coming?  ;-)

Teaser
“It’s even more beautiful than I remember it.” I was not alone. His voice flowed over my exposed back to the nape of my neck and climbed to my ears. I felt my skin ignite with his rich smooth tone. Maybe this was the effect of the Cognac and champagne combined with the emotion of the painting. I was afraid to turn around. So many things could happen now. I could turn into a pillar of salt, unlikely. I could blush or say something inappropriate, more likely. But the most likely outcome would be that the tears that were just sitting there, holding on for dear life, would break free and expose me completely. I chose to look ahead. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to acknowledge him. I didn’t want to break the spell. His hand rested at the small of my back and he spoke gently to me, “It’s magnificent. You captured it perfectly… Anika.”

His hearing is razor sharp, his physical strength incredible, and the urge to protect Josie overwhelming. For powerful enemies are hunting him, and Josie is the key to discovering why. As Shane struggles to unravel his past, dangerous new truths come to light. Can he protect the only woman he's ever loved? And can Josie trust a man she thought she knew—one who carries such a deadly secret?

Lesley's Review
Forgotten Sins is the first book in a new series for Rebecca Zanetti. I was given an arc for an honest review.  She is one of my absolute favorite authors and she never fails to prove why. She’s created a series that has a little bit of everything; action, romance, suspense and a touch of sci-fi.  I was hooked and drawn in the whole way through.
The Main characters, Josie and Shane are married but their life is shrouded in mystery. Shane disappeared for years after being married for a few months. When Josie receives a call stating that her husband is in the hospital. Shane has been diagnosed with amnesia. Well, that’s just great because Josie was finally getting her life back on track. Shane doesn’t remember anything but He knows he loves her. He knows that he would do anything to protect her. Josie however, is not having any part of this. Shane left her without word for years. She moved on, at least, that’s what she tells herself. Deep down she loves Shane but doesn’t trust him. Lies are uncovered.
“Her life became a movie. And not a good one.”
Shane finds himself in a predicament. He can’t remember anything about his past. He is relying on the woman who is supposed to be his wife. Josie. Shane questions her to find out who or what is after him but Josie knows absolutely nothing about Shane’s past. She only knows about the few short weeks they had together. Shane notices that his abilities such as hearing and strength are above normal and he’s not sure why?Mysteries start to unravel. Memories start to flood in. Will he remember in time to keep them both alive?
“Sounds like I didn’t trust you much, blue eyes.”
With neither one really knowing who to trust. They eventually start leaning on each other. The things that are discovered are shocking and suspenseful. And this is only the beginning of the story. This series will continue with Shane’s brothers as the main characters and continue along the story line. I love these types of series’. The mystery was intriguing and the love scenes smoking.  I was completely enthralled the whole way through. The characters and the relationships are well developed making it an effortless read. I don’t want to give too much away but I highly recommend this book. Mrs. Zanetti has hit another one out of the part.  4.5 stars.
